Unexpected

Chemo Pt.1

It was Baileys first day of Chemotherapy and no one knew how he would react. Arizona and Alex walked into Baileys room at 9 am to get Bailey prepped. "Good morning Mr Bailey" Arizona smiled.  "morning" he replied sleepily. "Mer we are just going to get him prepped if thats alright" Alex sighed. "Uhm let me talk to Bailey and call Derek and I will have an answer" Meredith replied not really knowing what to say. "Alright page me when you are ready" Alex said as him and Arizona exited the room. "Bailey, we need to start chemotherapy so we can see if you get better" Meredith said running her hand across his face. "Ok mommy, I hope I feel better after this" He sighed. "Me too, Im going to call your dad and get him to come down here" Meredith said as she picked up her phone and walked out of the room. She called Derek but no answer. It was 9 am and he wasnt answering why isnt he answering. Meredith was fed up. Their son is very sick and is going through his first round of Chemo and Derek doesnt answer. Meredith stopped trying to call him and went back into Baileys room. "Bails dad isnt coming right now but he should be here later" Meredith sighed. "aw ok" Bailey said sounding upset. Meredith paged Alex and Arizona so they could get him prepped. Meredith stepped out of the room as he was getting prepped and decided to call Amelia and see if she knows where Derek is. The phone ringed a couple of times and finally there was an answer. "hello Mer is Bailey okay?" Amelia asked sounding scared. "Uh yeah but hes getting prepped for his first round of chemo and Derek wont answer the phone. Do you know where he is?" Meredith asked. "I think hes still asleep, Ellis was up late asking questions about Bailey. Ill go check" Amelia said. "Thank you" Meredith sighed in relief. It was silent for a few seconds then Amelia said something. "Uh yeah hes still sleeping with Ellis in his arms its actually really cute" Amelia laughed. "Can you please wake him and tell him to get his ass over here" Meredith chuckled. "of course. Give Bailey a kiss and good luck. I'll visit him after his treatment" Amelia said. "Alright thank you" Meredith said as she hung up the phone. Menawhile Amelia was waking up Derek. "Derek Christopher Shepherd" She said semi loudly. "wha-what" He sad barely awake. "Its 9:15 and your son is getting prepped for chemo yu need to go to the hospital" Amelia whispered so she didnt wake Ellis. "oh, can you watch the girls" Derek said standing up fast. "Sure. I'll lay with Ellis for a bit if thats ok with you" She smiled. "yeah thats fine. When mom wakes up tell her im at the hospital" Derek said running out of the room. Derek ran out of the house into his car and called Meredith. "Derek" she said sounding pissed. "Im so so sorry Ellis kept me up last night because she was scared for Bailey so I Let her sleep in our room with me and I didnt hear the alarm" He rambled. "Its ok, just get here hes scared" Meredith sighed. "Alright love you" He said. "Love you too" She said as she hung up.
