Unexpected

28 weeks

Meredith is now 28 weeks. She was huge and hated how she looked but nobody needed to know that. Everyone just said she was glowing and she didn't like that. She just wanted to sleep and not go to work but she of course is going to work. "Good morning beautiful" Derek said as he kissed her cheek. "Good morning" Meredith sighed. "What's wrong" Derek asked. "It's just nothing" Mer said as she got up. She felt a little nauseous today and didn't have any motivation to do anything. They set up the nursery last week so they are prepared for that part. Meredith waited until Derek went downstairs. She closed and locked the bathroom door and pulled the scale out. She got on the scale to weigh herself and when she saw how much she weighed she hated herself. "Why am I so fat?" She asked. Meredith started crying as she sunk to the floor. She sat down and then there was a knock. It was Derek, Mer quickly wiped away her tears put the scale away and opened the door. "Hey" Derek said. He looked up at her puffy red eyes and could tell she was crying. "Hey, what's wrong beautiful" he asked as he pulled her into a hug. "I hate when you call me beautiful" she sighed in between tears. "What why?" He asked. "Because I'm not. Look at me I way like 1000 pounds and feel like crap. I hate myself." She said as she sunk to the floor. "Mer, your are beautiful and you do not weigh 1000 pounds it's just our babies. After they are into this world you won't weigh as much." Derek said as he rubbed her back. "Promise" Meredith asked. "Promise" Derek replied. Mer had to get dressed because they had a OB appointment today. Of course they were both nervous but they were trying to keep their heads held high. They got in the car to leave the house. Once they arrived at the hospital they walked in and went up to OB. They got called back to the room and Dr Herman was ready to get her another ultrasound. Dr Herman put the cool gel on Merediths stomach and then put the wand on. She moved around and they quickly heard 2 strong heartbeats. Dr Herman asked Meredith some questions and then left the room. When it was just Derek and Meredith in the room Mer started to cry. "Aww it's ok" Derek said as he held her. "I can't believe that we have 2 strong babies. And I can't believe I was crying earlier about my stomach when we have 2 strong babies in there" Mer said as Derek stroked her hair. "I love you" Derek said as he let go of her. " I love you too" Meredith said as she got dressed. They were just about the leave the room when Derek got pulled back and kissed on the lips. "We are having 2 healthy babies" Meredith said as she held him close. "We are having 2 healthy babies" Derek repeated. They then walked out of the OB and got ready to start their shifts. Derek and Meredith walked up to the attendings lounge to change into their scrubs. They changed in the same place since they were married. When Meredith took her shirt off to change into her scrubs, Derek looked at her. "Why are you looking at me" she asked. "Because your my wife and you have my babies in your stomach and I love you so much" Derek said as her put his scrub top on. Finally they were both dressed in scrubs so they could begin working.

I'm sorry that this chapter is kind of short. I'm thinking about what to write so please let me know if you have any ideas.
