Unexpected

Save her

Bailey held Merediths cold hand while Derek held his two newborn babies in awe and also panicking. When they heard the sirens they quickly got up and brought the paramedics to Meredith. They got her on a stretcher and into the ambulance as they also checked out the babies who seemed to be extremely healthy thanks to their mother. Derek got in the ambulance with his wife and newborns and Bailey drove his car to the hospital. Bailey arrived before the ambulance and was able to get the doctors on standby for an important patient. "31 yr old female, unconscious with a weak pulse after performing a c-section on herself without any drugs" the paramedic said as he unloaded her out of the rig. "Damn Derek what the hell happened" Richard said as he saw Meredith. "She went into labor and I wasn't there. I SHOULDVE BEEN THERE THEN THIS WOULDNT OF HAPPENED. She was checking how dilated she was when she saw one of the babies legs. She performed a c-section by herself. She can't die don't let her die." Derek screamed. "Derek come with me so I can do an exam on your babies" Arizona said as she walked toward the NICU with the babies. "Ok so both of your babies look great. Baby B was the one who's leg she saw. But his leg seems to be doing great so you can go back to Meredith I'll let you know if I need you" Arizona said as she put her hand on his shoulder. Derek walked back down to the trauma room Meredith was in. "How is she doing" he asked. "She has internal bleeding and she lost so much blood. She has a 50/50 chance of waking up but we are taking her to surgery right now" Owen said. "Ok just save her please" Derek sighed. Owen, Richard and Bailey took Meredith up to surgery to fix her abdomen. Bailey held Merediths hand instead of operating she couldn't operate on Meredith like this. Richard and Owen started fixing the internal bleeding and packing Meredith. They finished the surgery successfully and stitched her abdomen up. They covered the scare and took her to an ICU room. "Derek" Bailey said walking into the waiting room. "No she can't be dead. These kids need her" Derek said panicking. "Derek she's not dead she's in an ICU room. We don't know when she will wake up though but she should wake up" she said. "Oh my gosh. Thank you so much" Derek said as he pulled Bailey in for a hug. After the hug he ran to the ICU and sat by his wife's side. He grabbed her and and pulled it to his face "Meredith please wake up. You have two beautiful babies who need to meet their mother who risked her life so one of them wouldn't lose their leg or die. I love you please wake up" Derek said as he started crying. "Derek. Take some time and go see your babies they have been crying" Richard said. "I don't want to leave her side but she would want me to so ok" Derek replied as he stood up and walked to the NICU. "Hey guys" he said as he picked them up and held them. They look so much like Meredith. "You guys will be ok. Mommy will be ok, she's strong and beautiful" Derek said quietly to his kids. "DEREK" Bailey yelled. "What is she crashing?" He asked. "Come and see for yourself" Bailey said. Derek kissed both of his newborns head and placed them down. He ran out of the NICU to the ICU when he saw something amazing. She's awake. "Meredith". Derek said as he ran and sat by her crying. "Der, I don't really remember what happened. I know it was something about one of the babies but are they ok?" Meredith asked. "Meredith. When you looked to see how dilated you were you saw one of our babies legs. You decided you would save the babies so you performed a c-section with no drugs or sterile field. You delivered our babies perfectly fine, I'm amazed they are perfect and look just like you." Derek said as tears came to his eyes. "I wanted to make sure they were safe. They are our babies and I couldn't imagine losing them even if I put myself through hell and pain" Meredith replied. "When can I meet them"  Meredith sighed. "I will grab them now" Derek said with a smile. "Wait" Meredith said. "What" Derek asked. "I'm sorry about our fight earlier. If I never fought with you I probably wouldn't of had to cut myself open and risk our babies lives. I'm so sorry Derek" Meredith said crying. "No I'm sorry I shouldn't of left. I'm pausing the trial for a couple of years for you and our family" Derek said as he walked out of the room to go grab their babies and Zola so they could all meet.
