Whats wrong?

"Mommy it really hurts" Bailey cried. Meredith was just standing there shocked from what she saw. "Ok buddy. Don't worry. We- uhm- we need to get in the car and go on a trip" Meredith said. "Where to" he asked. "The hospital so you can see your friends" she lied. "Yay" Bailey said as he stood up. Meredith grabbed a trash bag just incase he ended up getting sick again. "We will be there soon" Meredith said as she drove towards the hospital. When she got there she quickly picked up Bailey and brought him into the ER. "Dr. Bailey" she yelled as she walked in. "Grey what's wrong" Dr. Bailey asked. "He uh- woke me up at 5 saying he didn't feel good and I- I took his temperature and it was 104.1 so I didn't send him to school and like 30 minutes ago he started to puke blood" Meredith said sounding scared. "Mommy when can I see my friends" Bailey asked. "In a minute" She replied. Meredith walked over to fill out some paperwork when she heard Bailey getting sick again. This time it wouldn't stop. "Ok we need to get a CT and MRI" Miranda screamed. "Mommy" Bailey cried. "Bails it will be ok, you have to go in this space machine and then I will see you after" she said trying to stay calm. Bailey took him into the CT room, got him situated and then walked out to talk to Meredith. "Mer, go tell Derek while I get the CT please" Bailey said. "O-ok" Meredith replied as she went to find Derek. She walked up towards the Neuro ICU she saw Derek at a nearby nurses station. "Derek" She said out of breath. "Mer, I thought you weren't working today" he questioned. "I'm not, uh Bailey was puking blood so I brought him here, he's in CT and then he will get a MRI if the CT doesn't show anything" Meredith cried. Derek looked shocked and ran over to Mer and held her in his arms. "It'll be ok, let's go see him" Derek said as he wiped away one of Merediths tears. They walked down to the CT suite and saw Miranda staring at the screen shocked. "Miranda" Derek asked. Meredith and Derek walked over to read the scans. "What- how- no" Meredith sobbed. "Mer calm down we can't let Bailey see us like this he will know something is wrong" Derek cried. "Calm down? He has- cancer" She sobbed even louder. "Liver cancer" Meredith cried. "Mer we need to go talk to him" Derek said as he looked into his wife's eyes. She looked so scared. "What do we tell him?" She asked. "Tell him the truth, there is a way to beat this." Derek sighed. "He knows what cancer is, he knows that it kills" Meredith stuttered. "So he will know he has to be strong and not give up" Derek said as he wrapped her in a hug. "Ok" Meredith said as she wiped her tears. An intern took Bailey to a peds room while they were having their conversation. They held each others hand and walked towards the room he was in. "Hi mommy and daddy" Bailey sighed. "Hi buddy" they said. "Bailey, there's something really wrong with you" Meredith said in the verge of breaking down. "What's wrong" he asked. "Do you remember what cancer is" Derek asked. "Yeah that sickness that only some people survive having? Why?" Bailey asked as he looked into his parents eyes. "Bails, you- have cancer" Meredith said as she slightly cried. "What? Am I going to die" Bailey cried. "We don't know, but you can be strong and- and fight this" Meredith cried. "Mommy I don't want to die" Bailey cried. Now all three people in the room were crying. "You won't" Derek said wiping away some of his tears. "How will we tell Zozo and Ellis" Bailey asked. "I don't know" Meredith replied. "Do you want to tell them because you don't have to right now" Derek asked. "Yeah because I want them to be here" Bailey cried. "Ok, we will figure it out buddy" Meredith said as her and Derek held Bailey.
