Unexpected

No need to worry

4 weeks has passed and Meredith is 19 weeks pregnant. Derek and Her woke up early on a Saturday morning with the kids in their bed from the movie night they had the night before. "Hey" Derek smirked. "Hi" Meredith sighed. "What's wrong?" Derek asked "I don't know I just have a feeling" she replied. "A feeling? Meredith last time you said you had a feeling you almost died. What kind of feeling" Derek asked concerned. "A mother's feeling like something is wrong I don't know how to explain it" She said looking into his blue eyes. "Do you want to get checked out today?" He asked moving his arm from under Zola to Merediths shoulder. "I don't want to seem dramatic or anything but I think we should" Meredith replied standing up. "I'll get Amy to watch the kids, get ready ok?" He said as he left his room. He walked to Amelias room and knocked on the door. She let him in and he asked her if she could watch the kids because Meredith had a feeling and wanted to get checked out by OB and Amelia agreed. Derek took all the kids that were laying in their bed and put them in their own. Meredith was ready and so was Derek so they made their way to the car and then to the hospital. "So what kind of feeling?" Derek asked. "I don't know how to explain it. It's just there and it doesn't seem right" Meredith said moving her hand to Dereks leg. " I told Arizona we were coming in she agreed to see us" Meredith smiled. Soon enough they made it to the hospital and met Arizona in a exam room. "Ok so I'll do some test and an ultrasound to make sure this feeling you're having isn't too serious ok?" Arizona smiled. "Ok thank you" Meredith smiled. Arizona gave Meredith a gown and left the room so she could put it on. While she was putting it on Dereks pager went off '911' it read. "Crap I have to go. 911 I'm so sorry I'll be fast" He said kissing her on her head and grabbing his stuff. "Ok. It's ok" she sighed as he left the room. Derek went down to the ER to asses his 911 patient while Arizona walked in to start some tests. First she did a normal check up, blood pressure, heart rate stuff like that. When she took her blood pressure she noticed it was higher than usual. "Meredith your BP is high" Arizona stated. "Uh yeah probably because Derek left. He's supposed to be here, I hate doing this stuff by myself" Meredith rambled. "Ok calm down it's ok" Arizona reassured. Meredith took a couple of deep breaths and soon relaxed. "So tell me about this feeling. Like what does it feel like?" Arizona asked. "It's like a flutter I guess. But it's not the baby kicking because I know what kicking feels like. It's probably all in my head. I've been so worried about being pregnant again because of my last delivery" Meredith said quietly looking towards the ground. "It might just be in your head or it could be real so we're just going to run some tests and see if we see anything ok?" Arizona stated calmly. Meredith nodded. "I'm going to go get the ultrasound I'll be back" Arizona said as she stood up and left the room. A couple of minutes later the door open and Derek walked in. "Sorry there was a patient with a head lack who needed checked for neurological deficits. I was going as fast as I can. What happened how are you?" Derek rambled. "It's ok Derek and Arizona took some tests but didn't see anything other than my blood pressure being higher then usual. And then she asked me some questions and left to get the ultrasound" Meredith sighed. After that Meredith and Derek sat in silence until Arizona came in. Arizona went over what she was going to do so Meredith and Derek knew and then applied the ultrasound gel to Meredith's stomach. When the machine turned on Arizona put the wand on Merediths stomach and soon their baby's heartbeat was heard all around the room. "So your baby has a strong heartbeat which is awesome" Arizona smiled then looked back at the screen "but it does look like your baby is sitting at a weird angle. Which is nothing to worry about but might be why you don't think the feeling is kicks" Arizona stated. Meredith and Derek sighed in relief. "So thats all that's wrong? The baby is just sitting different?" Meredith questioned. "Yep. She should rotate when you get closer to delivery. Which if she doesn't we may have to do a c section, and I know you don't want that because of last time but that may be our only choice. But we'll see when it's closer to your due date." Arizona explained. "So nothing to worry about?" Derek asked one last time. "Nothing to worry about" Arizona smiled. "Thank you for doing the ultrasound I just wanted to make sure she is alright" Meredith said to Arizona. "Anytime. Let me know if you need anything, and don't worry about your baby she's perfectly healthy." Arizona smiled as she left the room. Meredith started to put on her clothes as Derek and her talked. "It's almost time for our shifts to start. I'll ask Amelia to bring the kids to daycare when she comes in" Derek said as he left the room to call Amelia. Meredith followed shortly behind her after finishing getting dressed. "Ok so Amelia is going to bring in the kids. I love you I got to go get changed into scrubs" Derek said as he gave Meredith a kiss. "I have to get changed too so we can walk the the attending lounge together" Meredith smiled grabbing Dereks hand. "I'm glad our baby is okay" Derek said placing his other hand on Merediths stomach. "Me too" She replied.

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in forever, my laptop got taken away and I just recently got it back and I hate writing on my phone. Anyways I hope you enjoy this update, it's not the best but I will do as much updates as possible tonight. Hopefully all the people who were reading my stories before see this update and come back to read it. Anyways, I hope you guys have had a good summer so far
