Trying

Zola and the twins were at Callies and Arizona's for the night so Derek and Meredith can have some alone time. Derek started the night by getting takeout from Merediths favorite Italian restaurant and setting the table nicely as he lit candles. Meredith walked through the door a couple minutes later. "Hey" she smiled. "What is this" she asked. "I wanted to make the night special so we can try again" Derek smiled. "You're the best. What would I do without you" Meredith laughed as she walked over kissed her husband. They ate dinner than Meredith needed a shower that Derek of course was going to join her in. After the make out session in the shower they took it to the bedroom. After a long I mean LONG make out session Meredith and Derek ended up falling asleep naked holding each other. They loved each other and their family that they are hoping to extend. Meredith woke up at 3 am not able to sleep. She didn't know why she was just wide awake. They went to bed at 12 so she should be more tired. She was excited for work in the morning because she had a massive tumor in a 16 year old that she got to scrub in with Bailey to remove. She loved long surgery's and that one would definitely be long. And, Amelia was coming to Seattle in 6 weeks and staying for a while. Amelia is Merediths favorite sister of Dereks they had a pretty good bond. Meredith got out of bed so Derek could sleep and she went to the living room making popcorn and turning on a movie. She eventually fell back asleep on the couch and then woke up at 6 to get ready for work. "Good morning" she said entering their bedroom seeing a tired Derek. "Morning. Why are you up so early" He asked. "I wasn't I slept on the couch because I couldn't sleep" She smiled walking into the master bathroom. "I need a shower care to join?" She giggled. "Is that even a question" Derek joked. After their shower they left to go to work. When they got there they went up to the attendings lounge to get dressed into scrubs. Meredith had the big tumor surgery in 20 minutes so she had to hurry her way to the OR. When she got there she saw Bailey scrubbing which she also did. "Morning Grey" Bailey smiled. "Morning" Meredith sighed with no emotion. "Grey, why aren't you more excited for this surgery" Bailey wondered. "What? I'm really excited for this surgery it's just that" Meredith stopped before she could say anything more. "It's just that?" Bailey asked. "It's just that I want more kids and we have been trying but with no good results" Meredith sighed. "Oh. Well if you need anything I'm here" Bailey smiled walking into the OR. Meredith followed her and they started their 7 hour surgery. 2 hours in Meredith yawned. "Late night" Bailey asked. "Yeah I couldn't sleep. The kids weren't home so I should've been able to sleep but I couldn't" Meredith sighed. "And Dereks sister Amelia is coming in 6 weeks and I'm excited to see her. She's my favorite" Meredith giggled. "That's nice. Tuck kept me up all night because he wasn't feeling good" Bailey sighed. "I'm sorry" Meredith said. "Eh it's something you get used to" Bailey shrugged. "How are your kids doing. Princess Zola and Ellis and handsome Bailey?" Bailey asked laughing. "Well Zola is doing really good in kindergarten and I'm pretty sure Ellis and Bailey are teething. But Bailey likes to make sure that I come see him at 3 am almost every night" Meredith laughed. "He's a mamas boy" Derek said through the speaker in the gallery. Meredith smiled. "He sure is" Bailey said. The next 3 hours of resecting the tumor was pretty quite until the patient started coding. They shocked her 3 times and nothing. Bailey called time of death and they left the OR to talk to the family. This is the part Meredith hated about her job. She knew if it was one of her kids or family members she would of been heartbroken.

A/n
So next chapter will probably be skipped ahead 6 weeks to when Amelia comes or maybe 4 weeks so we can show a little bit of what's going on. Anyways I have a great idea for this story but I'm trying to find a good spot to bring that idea into play and I'm sure I found it so you will have to wait and see 😁
