"Do you want me to just listen to you or do you also want to me to give advice?"
"I want you to be honest with me and just be straight forward with what you think of this."
Even though she knew that Lia was the most understanding person she had ever met, Ryujin didn't want to tell her anything about the fact that she literally just cried for so many hours, feels so drained and weak in the moment, like there was a dark cloud stuck inside her head.
The last thing she wanted was to worry the person she loves, she didn't want her to also deal with her foggy mind.
All of the sudden, Ryujin started chuckling, taking her girlfriend's hand inside her own while staring at her more than just adorable in Lia's opinion.
"I just... I need to say it again, even if it's out of the blue. I love you. I love you so, so much. And I want to tell you over and over and over again because I want you to know that I do. But still..."
The way Ryujin's smile turned sad and almost a bit bothered made Lia worry, resting her head onto her boo's shoulder without hesitation.
"Do you want to know what the second reason why I struggle to tell everyone that we're together is?"
"There is a second one?"
"Yes, there is. I... I never wanted my parents to find out about it. They don't even know that I'm into girls."
"Are your parents homophobic?"
"I don't know. They even texted me when everyone found out that I wasn't straight, but I panicked and told them that it was just rumor going around. But with you, it's a different thing. I don't want them to dislike you or even forbid me to see you. Well, if they told me that, I wouldn't listen to them anyway, but you get the idea."
"How do you think they'll react once they find out?"
"I honestly have no idea. But... They texted me yesterday, asking me if I wanted to join the for family dinner. I really haven't seen them in a while, though I'm trying to avoid them as best as I can, but they think that I'm just really busy."
"Why do you avoid them in the first place?"
Slowly wrapping her arms around Ryujin's waist, Lia was now softly hugging her side, snuggling into her girlfriend like she was seeking for her warmth.
"Don't get me wrong, I love them and I'm thankful for everything they ever did for me, but I... I don't want them to be disappointed in me when they find out I'm the way I am."
"I know that it may sound hard, but I want to be honest with you. If they really love you, they will accept you no matter what. I don't know what kind of relationship you have, so I also don't know how I think they'll react, but seriously... You're their daughter after all."
"I know, and you're absolutely right... That's why I agreed to go there tomorrow."
---
"Okay, are you ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"And you're sure that you're mentally prepared for everything that might happen?"
"One hundred per cent."
"Okay, good... Uhm, one last question, do you really have to wear a suit when you're meeting your family?"
"No, I don't, but it makes me seem more... responsible, serious, and definetly respectable."
Chuckling, Lia fixed the tie around her girlfriend's neck completely, before making eye contact with her one last time.
