9pm.
"Ryujin, this is... beautiful."
"Yeah, I know... I've always wanted to go stargazing with you, but because it's slowly getting cold outside, I figured that this would be the best alternative."
"But why did it remind you of me?"
"Maybe because the nightsky is something I've always loved and which never seemed to stop fascinating me?"
Chuckling quietly, Lia didn't want to break the calmness inside the room, so she was talking quietly and very soothingly to maintain the current mood inside the cold room.
The thing Ryujin bought was a lamp, which projects the nightsky onto the ceiling and the walls of the room. Honestly, that was also the very last thing Lia expected.
"Dork..."
"No, seriously, I'm genuinely impressed by stars, or maybe even the night in general."
"Why?"
Lia could feel how Ryujin exhaled, mainly because she was resting in her arms, with the outsider being in a sitting position and the popular girl leaning against her, sinking into her warmth.
The smaller girl could feel each and every one of the breaths, her chest rising and sinking every time her lungs filled with the fresh air coming from the open window next to them.
She also noticed how Ryujin's thumb gently caressed her upper arm, making the smaller girl calm her own breathing even more, if that was even possible.
Their heartbeats were steady and in sync, pretty slow and also not as intense as they usually would be.
"Stars remind us that there's so much beauty out there which we almost never see. And I just... like that feeling of privacy one can have during night. It feels like the whole world is quiet."
"That's... really inspiring, boo."
"Plus, when you're there, the night also feels... more intimate, and I don't mean in a sexual way, it's like... mental intimacy? I don't know, it's just something I can't put into words."
"You don't have to, I know exactly what you're talking about."
Very carefully moving her head, Ryujin planted a soft kiss onto her boo's forehead, a tiny smile appearing on the older girl's lips right after that.
The girl's special kind of affection was always able to bring butterflies into Lia's stomach, and maybe it was exactly that safety of the moment that made Lia sigh, knowing that right now might be the best moment to tell her girlfriend about it.
She was probably overthinking it, but she just way too scared to even mention that person up until now, so she tried keeping that topic away from Ryujin as best as she could.
Honestly, she wasn't sure how Ryujin would react, but she knew that she didn't have to be scared to tell her girlfriend anything.
Lia knew that Ryujin would always listen to her side before judging her for anything.
She sat up, trying not to turn around to look at her girlfriend behind her.
"I think I need to tell you something."
"Oh, what is it?" And even now, when Lia was trying to say something that was probably really unexpected for Ryujin and was still afraid of saying it, the general curiousity in Ryujin's soft voice was making it so much easier to say.
And also just the way she was now sitting behind Lia, her hands around the girl's waist as her head was resting on one of her shoulders.
"Before we were together, I was together with a dude from my old school."
