"We can't keep driving like this, we need to stop somewhere and figure out what to do.." Y/n spoke up from the back seat after they had been driving through empty backroads for over an hour. The sun had started to set as the sky turned light shades of orange and red mixed with a hint of pink.

Vernon sighed and nodded,
"Okay we'll stop at the next place we see that seems safe." After driving for another five minutes a small house came into view. There were only two or three other houses that could be seen around it and the streets were empty. Vernon pulled into the driveway slowly and turned the car off.
"I guess this is where we're staying for the night" he mumbled before jumping out of the car.

The group of four cautiously made their way to the front door of the house. The house was fortunately left unlocked. Vernon slowly pushed the door open and held the baseball bat in his other hand. They each made their way inside once they knew it was safe.
"Lock every door and window that you see and pull down all of the blinds" Vernon instructed causing everyone to scurry around the house to find windows and doors that needed to be locked.

Once the house was secure and somewhat safe they searched the house for food or any supplies that they might need. There was little food left in the cupboards that would only be able to last the group a couple of days at most. They collected medication and other necessities and each filled up a bag for themselves, minus Y/n who already had her own bag.

"Hey guys look I found a laptop and it actually works" Chan informed as he walked into the main living space and sat on the couch. Everyone else made their way to the living room and stood around the younger boy.
"We can use it to figure out what's happening" he said as he quickly typed away. He clicked on one of the first news articles he saw titled 'Deadly outbreak in Seoul'.
"They're not letting anyone in or out of Seoul... and it says that- what? No they can't do that" Chan mumbled to himself as he continued to read the article.

"What? What does it say?" Seungkwan urged as he sat next to Chan and began reading the article for himself.
"They're not sending anyone to help because it's to dangerous, they want to let the virus die out before they take action and do anything..." Seungkwan trailed off as he read the article aloud.
"What?! No no no they have to help us, everyone's going to die if they don't" Y/n exclaimed as she paced in front of the two males.
"I think that's what they want.." Chan added dejectedly.

Y/n pulled out her phone and dialled the emergency contact number. She waited impatiently while the phone rung, after a few seconds a loud beep was heard before an automatic message played.
"We are not currently accepting emergency calls from Seoul, South Korea, sorry for the inconvenience". Y/n hung up and stared at her phone on anger.
"Sorry for the inconvenience?! What the fuck is that supposed to mean! This is a goddamn apocalypse type situation and they don't care?!" she yelled as she held a tight grip on her phone.

The other three males in the room were silent as they watched her, not knowing what to do in this situation.
"are we..are we going to die?" Chan mumbled quietly, almost inaudible.
"No, we're not going to die, we're going to get through this okay? We have to" Vernon spoke up loud enough for everyone to hear. He placed his hand on Chan's shoulder,
"I promise we're not going to die" he reassured, even though he wasn't so sure himself.
"Right Y/n?" He asked as he looked up at the angry girl. She sighed heavily and nodded,
"Of course we're not going to die, we need to live so I can get my hands on the people that caused this thing" she said with fire in her eyes.

Chan laughed and smiled softly causing the air and the atmosphere in the room to lift slightly.
"I guess this is going to be our home for awhile but we might need to go out and find food soon" Seungkwan said as he looked around the small house.
"We should be okay for a couple of days but don't get too comfortable we can't stay here forever" Vernon said.
"We need to find my brother.." Y/n said as she stared at the ground.
"Y/n I'm sorry but there's no way that we can know where he is or even if he's alive.." Seungkwan sighed, staring deeply into the younger girls eyes.

"He's not dead, I know he's not, and if you're not going to help me find him then I'll do it on my own" she argued. Vernon sighed,
"You're not going anywhere by yourself, we can try and look for him but we can't promise that we'll find him okay?" he said lifting his eyes to meet hers. She nodded and stayed silent.

After about an hour, the four school students ate what they could find around the house and decided to sleep for the night. They found blankets tucked away in a cupboard and tried their best to stay warm with the materials they had with them. The two youngest, Y/n and Chan fell asleep almost immediately while Seungkwan and Vernon struggled to fall asleep.

"Do you think we can find him?" Seungkwan asked Vernon as he observed Y/n while she slept.
"We can try, that's the least we can do for her" Vernon said as he glanced at the unconscious girl. Seungkwan nodded and looked at the younger,
"We'll be okay because we have each other" he whispered, not wanting to wake the others. He gave Vernon a soft smile in which the younger returned after a few seconds.
"We'll be okay.." Seungkwan mumbled before finally falling asleep.
