A week and a half later, Vernon, Seungkwan, Chan and Y/n had gotten used to their new groups schedule, Chan was an expert at using the computers, Seungkwan was practically a doctor, and Vernon and Y/n were used to going out and finding supplies. Both groups had merged and become like one big family, all of them acting like they've known each other for years, even though some of them already have. Every second day they would go out and look for supplies and would sweep through areas they haven't been before, and every day in between Y/n, Soonyoung, Vernon and Seokmin would go out and look for Y/n's brother, if he was still alive.

They were currently walking through a more scenic area on the outskirts of the city where there were more forests and lakes. Soonyoung and Y/n were walking a few metres ahead of Vernon and Seokmin.
"I really doubt we're going to find him in the middle of a forest" Seokmin said while swatting bugs away from his face.
"I know..i don't know how else we're supposed to find him unless we look everywhere though" Vernon replied as he almost tripped over a rock in front of him.
"I don't want to make this depressing but even if we do find him, I have a feeling he's not going to be the same as he was before...if you know what i mean..." implying Seungcheol had become one of the living dead. Seokmin looked over at Vernon after a few seconds of silence.
"what's wrong with you? you've been glaring at them since we left" he said as he noticed the intense look Vernon had on his face.
"Don't you think those two have been too close to each other lately?" he asked, not really caring what Seokmin had to say.

"I mean i guess they have been spending more time together lately, but thats probably just because he's been helping her find her brother" he replied, not reading into the situation too much.
"To me it sounds like you're jealous" he added causing Vernon to stop in his tracks.
"i'm not jealous, she's my best friend and i'm just trying to protect her" Vernon defended, clearly annoyed.
"Protect her? you know he wouldn't lay a finger on her right? but whatever you want to tell yourself to help you sleep at night..." Seokmin laughed as he pat Vernon on the back.

"Guys come take a look at this!" Y/n yelled from ahead, waving them over. Once they caught up they noticed a small waterfall on the other side of the hill they were on, the water below it was a crystal blue colour that reflected the trees off of it.
"Let's get in, i haven't cleaned myself properly in so long and the water feels so nice" Y/n said as she swayed her hand in the water in front of her. She began to lift her top off when Vernon stopped her,
"what are you doing?" he asked protectively, pulling her shirt back down.
"well i can't swim in my clothes, come on it'll be nice" she replied. Vernon hesitantly let go of her and turned around letting her undress. Seokmin did the same and when Vernon noticed Soonyoung hadn't turned around he grabbed his shoulders and forcibly turned him around.

"okay you can turn around now" she laughed as she watched the boys slowly turn around. She submerged herself under water and brushed the hair off her face and behind her head, while washing her face with the water. Seokmin was quick to follow and removed his clothing, apart from his underwear, and jumped in, splashing Y/n in the process.
"come on you guys get in, you'll love it!" Y/n encouraged. Vernon and Soonyoung gave each other awkward glances before stripping. They both stepped into the water and instantly relaxed at the cool feeling on their bodies.

Seokmin was floating around on his back like a starfish and the other two boys were watching Y/n from a distance. She was swimming happily, her worries being washed away for a short moment. She felt something brush her leg but ignored it, assuming it was a piece of grass or a leaf in the water. She panicked when she felt something tighten around her ankle but before she could react she was pulled harshly under the water. She struggled against the hold on her leg and tried to kick what was holding her leg away. She started to feel weak as she began to run out of air, her head starting to feel light. Before she could loose consciousness there was commotion around her and she was pulled above the water, finally able to breathe again. Vernon was relentlessly hitting what was underneath the water and Soonyoung pulled her out of the water completely.

Her head was spinning and her eyes blurred as she sat on her side and threw up water, her breathing unsteady as she continued to cough up water. Soonyoung gave her a concerned look as he rubbed her back, holding her hair out of her face.
"when the hell did those fuckers learn how to swim?!" Seokmin exclaimed. After Vernon made sure the zombie was dead he got out of the water, clearly out of breath. He dropped the bat on the grass and quickly made his way over to Y/n.
"are you okay? did it hurt you? did it scratch or bite you?" he asked frantically while scanning her body. She was too disorientated to answer,
"she's fine, i already checked" Soonyoung answered instead, receiving a small glare but a relieved nod from Vernon.
"we should head back, who knows how many of those things could be around" Seokmin said, clearly paranoid as he looked around.

Y/n tried her best to get dressed on her own, needing help from Vernon every now and then. Once everyone was dressed they started to head back home. After a few steps, Y/n stumbled and fell on her knees, barely able to lift herself back up. Soonyoung rushed over to her and helped her back onto her feet,
"I'll carry you, get on my back" he insisted as he crouched down low enough for her to climb on his back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulders as they started walking again.
