Jihoon lowered his gun when he realised it wasn't a zombie he was pointing it at. There was a boy in front of him who looked like he was in his early 20's. He had light brown fluffy hair and had a unique accent when he spoke. He was sat on the floor, staring up at Jihoon with wide eyes, his eyes flicking down to the gun the shorter male had in his hand. Vernon quickly made his way to Jihoon's side to see what was going on. He stared down at the male on the floor, confusion etching onto his face.
"Do I know you?" he asked, not being able to shake the feeling that he looked familiar.

"What's going on?" Y/n asked, slipping her head past the door to see what the commotion was. She noticed the boy on the floor and her eyes widened.
"oh my god" she said, standing up straight and fully entering the room.
"Joshua?!" she exclaimed, rushing over to him and enveloping him in a tight hug. After the realisation of who was hugging him, he returned the warm embrace. They let go of one another and stood up, Joshua cupping her face in his hands,
"you're alive!" he exclaimed, a large smile plastering his face.

Vernon and Jihoon exchanged unsure glances,
"so you know this guy?" Jihoon spoke up from behind the pair embracing one another again. Y/n turned around,
"This is Joshua, he's one of Seungcheol's best friends" Y/n smiled, introducing Joshua to the rest of the group. Her smile faltered slightly and she faced Joshua,
"have you.. have you seen him?" she asked warily, anticipating an answer she didn't want to hear. He nodded,
"I was with him when this all started, Jeonghan was with us as well, I got separated from them around a week ago..." he muttered, his answer letting Y/n's eyes glimmer with hope. He gave her a soft smile,
"he hasn't stopped looking for you, he had hope you were alive the whole time...so did I" he quietly said. She returned the smile he gave her.

He cleared his throat and his body stiffened when he noticed the intense stares he was getting from Soonyoung, Seokmin and Mingyu.
"uhm who are your friends?" he asked nervously as he tried to avoid making eye contact with them, not exactly sure why they were glaring at him.

Y/n introduced him to everyone one by one, Joshua nodding his head slowly trying to remember each name.
"There's others back at our base, you remember Chan and Seungkwan? they're with us too" Y/n paused,
"maybe you can come back with us? We can look for Cheol together.." she suggested, looking over at Soonyoung for permission. There were too many of them already in their group but he couldn't say no to her when she gave him that look, her eyes large and a small pout on her face. He hesitated for a moment before sighing,
"Okay" he agreed,
"he can come back with us" he finished, not sure if he made the right decision but ultimately ignoring that feeling once he saw Y/n smile brightly at him. His gaze shifted to Joshua, observing him quietly as he conversed with Y/n. He had a weird feeling in his chest when he saw how happy Joshua's presence made Y/n. He brushed it off and looked outside noticing it was becoming late.

The sun was setting, creating orange and pink hues throughout the sky. The group decided it was time to leave. It was starting to become crowded outside. Zombies were roaming around, a few getting a bit too close to the store they were in. Soonyoung pushed the door open slowly, trying to make as little noise as possible. He held the door open and quickly ushered everyone out of the building.

Mingyu and Jihoon took the lead at the front, every now and then having to silently take out a few zombies that noticed them. Soonyoung stayed at the back so he could keep an eye on everyone in front of him. Vernon was talking with Joshua, his fellow american, obviously having remembered who he was. Seokmin was walking on his own, flinching at any sound he heard around him. Y/n was playing with her blade and dropped to the back of the group to walk with Soonyoung.
"You two seem really close" he guessed, referring to Joshua. Y/n smiled thinking about her relationship with older boy,
"i've known him since I was a baby, he and Seungcheol have been friends since before I was born so we're bound to be close as well, he's like a second older brother to me, and so is Jeonghan, he's my brothers other best friend...I hope he's still with my brother now..." she replied. Soonyoung nodded and glanced at her before returning his attention to the group in front of him. For some reason he felt better knowing that Y/n only saw Joshua as an older brother.
