One by one, everyone began to wake up as the sun shone on their faces. Some of them waking up naturally and some of them needing to be forced awake.
"Alright we need to leave as soon as we can if we want to make it to the cabin before it gets dark again" Seungcheol said as he stretched his limbs.

Soonyoung crouched down next to Y/n who was still fast asleep. He frowned when he noticed her breathing was heavy and her body was covered in sweat. He gently shook her,
"Y/n wake up we need to leave" he spoke softly as he continued to nudge her. He grew a little worried when she remained unconscious. He shook her a little harder and tapped her cheek lightly with the back of his hand.

Her eyes opened and she squinted as she struggled to adjust to the sun shinning harshly into her pupils.
"Are you okay? you look really pale.." Soonyoung asked as he held out his hand to her, helping her to her feet. She stumbled and felt her head spin. She internally groaned at the light headedness and nausea her body was overcome with. Her leg throbbed and she felt hot. Very hot. As if her skin was burning from the inside out. She put on a fake but very weak smile and nodded, avoiding answering him verbally, knowing her voice would give away the facade she was trying to hold up. Soonyoung furrowed his brows, he knew something was wrong but he decided not to press her further.

It had been a few hours since the group had all woken up and had started back on their way to the cabin. Each of them sweating profusely, the summer heat not easing up. It was hard enough having to be on guard and fight off zombies that got in their way but the heat ate away eagerly at their energy. They were all so tired.

Y/n struggled to walk straight, her vision was blurred and she wasn't sure if it was because of the sweat in her eyes or if it was because of how light headed she was. She tried to concentrate on concealing her limp but that only made her feel worse, her body straining itself more than it had too. Her muscles ached and her body burned worse than before. She couldn't focus on her surroundings. She could hear her own heartbeat beating loudly in her ears and she could feel the repeated thumping in her throat. Her very dry throat that yearned for a drop of water. Everything hurt. Everything hurt so much.

"Y/n are you alright? you don't look very good..." Chan asked as he walked next to her. Observing how her body was swaying slightly as she walked and how she breathed heavily with each step. She didn't answer him. She didn't hear him and honestly didn't even notice that he was next to her. Her ears rung and she felt a hot sensation running down her face.
"Y/n...your nose is bleeding, I think we should take a break if you're not feeling well... you might have heatstroke". She didn't know who was talking to her. She didn't know what they were saying, all she heard was unintelligible mumbles. She tried to concentrate on the voice but failed. Her eyes becoming progressively more blurred. Her body become heavy as she closed her eyes.

The rest of the group stopped walking when they heard a body drop to the ground and Chan yelling. Y/n laid unconscious on the ground. Chan was knelt next to her trying to wake her up. Minghao rushed over to the girls side.
"What's wrong with her?! is it heatstroke?" Seungkwan asked frantically. Minghao tried to remain calm as he felt her forehead and the back of her neck.
"She has a high fever" he declared as his eyes scammed over her body. His eyes stopped when he noticed blood staining the bottom of her pant leg and fresh blood painting the ground under her leg. He was quick to lift up her pant leg enough so he could see where the blood was coming from. He audibly gasped as he stared at the gash on her leg which was now very infected. Purulent drainage was leaking from the wound as well as blood.

"is that...?"Joshua asked hesitantly, not wanting to finish his sentence. Minghao understood what he meant and shook his head,
"no...if it was she would have turned by now, this is at least a few days old and if we don't treat it properly soon she could die..." he answered solemnly as he looked up at the rest of the group. Everyone exchanged fearful glances between one another at what Minghao said. They just lost one friend, they didn't want to lose another.
