Seungcheol hesitated before he stepped towards his childhood friend. He knelt down in front of him and pat his head gently, leaning his forehead against his. He looked into the younger's eyes, his own eyes glossy. He went to open his mouth but was interrupted,
"It's okay..." Joshua whispered, his frail hand lifting up to squeeze Seungcheol's shoulder reassuringly.Seungcheol stayed silent and hooked his arm under Joshua's shoulder, helping him to his feet as he guided him outside. Jeonghan stumbled out of the door as he followed behind them. Joshua pushed himself away from Seungcheol, instantly falling to the ground without the older to lean on. Jeonghan ran over to him. He sat down in the grass and placed Joshua's head in his lap, gently brushing his fingers through his hair as tears continued to fall from his eyes. Joshua's body started twitching for a few seconds and blood slipped out of his mouth. He calmed down a moment later and returned to a more humane state. Jeonghan's chest tightened at the sight. He brought his sleeve up to Joshua's face and wiped away the blood.
Seungcheol watched them silently as Jeonghan muttered things to the boy in his lap. His hand clenched the gun between his fingers which now had a silencer attached to it. He wondered when the world had become so fucked up. It was only a few months ago that the three of them were in Seungcheol's bedroom playing video games and laughing together, not caring about anything else in the world, not needing to care about anything else.
He watched as Jeonghan nodded softly and watched as more tears fell from his friends eyes. He watched as he lent down and kissed Joshua's forehead, his head turning towards him and his eyes glancing down at the gun he was holding and then making eye contact with him. There was so much pain in his eyes, so much hurt. Jeonghan stood up slowly, keeping his hands under Joshua's head as he laid his head down in the grass gently.
Seungcheol took a deep breath and wiped his tears, his whole body trembling as he stepped closer and closer. He spared Jeonghan an apologetic glance and knelt down in the grass beside his best friend who was staring up at the clouds in the sky, his breathing rigid. Seungcheol cupped his cheek in his hand, brushing his thumb over his face lightly. A tear fell from Joshua's eye, sliding down the side of his face and onto the grass under him.
"I love you Shua...we'll see each other again okay? I promise" he whispered, his voice breaking as he cried. Joshua gave him a small but genuine smile before looking back up at the sky. Another tear escaped his eye before he closed both of them, the small smile still on his face as he felt Seungcheol's gun being pressed lightly against his temple. The sun was setting and Y/n knelt in front of Joshua's grave which a few of the boys had dug for him. They also made another one next to it dedicated to Wonwoo. She placed a flower on top of it as she said her goodbyes to the boy that was like a brother to her. She stood up and wiped her tears, taking one last glance at the grave before walking over to her brother who pulled her into hug. As Seungcheol held her he looked up at the sky that was now painted orange and pink. He looked over to Jeonghan who was also staring up at the sky. He wondered if Joshua was up there somewhere, looking down and watching over them. He wished he was still with them. It wasn't fair that he was taken from the world so soon, such a kind and pure soul taken before he got the chance to live a full and long life.
After the sun had set, most of the group had gone inside for the night. Everyone expect Mingyu and Jeonghan who each sat in front of their best friends graves. Jeonghan sniffled quietly as he played with the grass in front of him,
"I don't know how I can live without him..." he mumbled. Mingyu looked up at Wonwoo's grave in front of him. He thought the same thing but he knew Wonwoo would want him to try and live a happy life no matter how much it hurt to live on without his presence.
"They would want us to be happy..." he spoke up, turning to look at Jeonghan, who he could only see the silhouette of.
"We need to live for them, create happy memories while thinking of them..." he said, turning his face up to the sky where he hoped his friend was watching him from.
