The group only had a few hours of sleep until they were woken up again at the break of dawn. Woken up by Jihoon who was not so gently shaking them all. Most of them woke up confused with puffy faces and hair sticking up in different directions. Y/n woke up and rolled over to see Seokmin and Soonyoung spooning one another. She couldn't stop herself from laughing and used her leg to kick them both awake.

She looked around, light barely lighting up the library as the sun had only just started to rise, it still being a little dark outside. Movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. She looked over at the window closest to them and noticed a shadowed figure peering in. At noticing her attention, the figure quickly moved away from the window.

She furrowed her brows and rubbed her eyes which were still a little blurry from when she had previously woken up, the sleep not completely out of her eyes yet. She continued to stare at the window. It was probably just a zombie she thought. But it didn't move like one. She shook the thoughts out of her mind and decided she was just being paranoid and was too tired to think rationally so she pushed the uneasy feeling in her gut aside.

***********

"Do you even know how to read a map?" Chan asked, letting out an exasperated sigh. Junhui rolled his eyes at the younger boy and let out a huff in reply.
"Because I don't think you do, I mean you've told us to turn around at least three times now saying 'wait no this is the wrong way'. If you were so good at directions we wouldn't have been going the wrong way in first place let alone THREE times" Chan rambled, not satisfied with Junhui's lack of response.
"Do you want to direct us to Busan instead? seeing as you're very vocal about your discontent for me doing it" Junhui muttered passive aggressively, getting annoyed with Chan's pestering.

"No...I'm just saying at this rate we'll never-"
"okay then shut up and let me concentrate, maybe if I didn't have to listen to you whining every two seconds we wouldn't have made a wrong turn THREE times" Junhui interrupted, purposefully mocking Chan. Chan indeed did shut up at this, pouting and crossing his arms.

As the bickering went on, Y/n couldn't help but shake the feeling that they were being followed. Every now and then she would hear shuffling in the tree line next to them. It could have easily been an animal but her thoughts always drifted to something that wasn't as easily explained.

"hey I'm talking to you" Mingyu said, finally catching her attention when he waved his hand in front of Y/n's face.
"sorry...what were you saying?" she asked apologetically, eyes still drifting to the trees every now and then.
"you seem distracted today. What's on your mind?" he asked, noticing her odd behaviour. She rubbed her arm where goosebumps had formed.
"I don't know...I have a weird feeling that somethings following us" she said quietly. Mingyu had to lean down slightly to hear her and laughed when he understood what she said.
"I'm being serious!" she argued, her face and tone serious. Mingyu stopped laughing, feeling slightly bad that he laughed at something she was actually worried about.
"Don't worry I'm sure it's nothing, I mean it can't be worse than a zombie right? and we can handle those" he reassured.

She nodded, the tight and anxious feeling in her chest lifting slightly. Mingyu was being rational and realistic. She was just being paranoid. Right?

They had finally gotten back on track, not having turned around for at least two hours now so they were confident they were going the right way.

Y/n was playing around with her gun, showing Seungkwan how to use it. She showed him how to take the safety off, how to unload and reload the clip, and how to properly aim. Obviously he couldn't practice how to shoot because that would attract zombies but she handed the handgun over to him and let him play around with it, making sure to remove the ammunition first because she didn't trust his clumsy hands.

"Make sure you always aim for the head, otherwise it won't do any real damage and you'll just end up wasting bullets" she explained. He nodded along as she taught him the basics and general stuff he needed to know in order to survive the rest of their trip.

Seungkwan found it strange that the girl that was younger than him and always did as she was told in class was now teaching him how to use a gun. It didn't feel real at all. It felt like a sick and twisted game or some sort of nightmare that he couldn't wake up from. He just hoped that they could eventually live a normal life again and make it to the boat on time, travel to Japan, start a new life and forget about everything that has happened to them in the past few months.

But it wouldn't be that easy.
