Y/n woke up covered in sweat, her chest heaving. She sighed heavily and brushed her hair out of her face. Her nightmares had started to become more frequent and were progressively getting worse each night. She sat up and looked around. It was still dark outside, probably the middle of the night. Her eyes shifted to the door, only just being able to make out the movement of it being opened.

There was barely any light throughout the whole cabin, only the dim glow of the moon. Her eyes tried to focus on the silhouette in the doorframe. It was obviously one of the boys but it was hard to make out which one exactly. She relaxed her eyes and stopped squinting when she heard their voice, her body also visibly relaxing.

"Another nightmare?" Soonyoung asked, his voice soft but loud enough for her to hear. She sighed and nodded,
"How did you know?" she asked as she watched his silhouette sit at the edge of the bed, close to where she was sitting up.
"You have a tendency to talk in your sleep, and it sounded like you were scared so I assumed it was another nightmare" he answered, worry evident in his voice.
"Did I wake you?" she asked. He shook his head,
"No I was already awake...I haven't been able to sleep much either".
"Are you okay?" he asked after a moments silence. She found his eyes once her own finally adjusted to the dark.
"I don't know...they won't stop and they keep getting worse, it's getting harder for me to tell them apart from reality and it's driving me insane" she admitted. She paused for a few seconds,
"..and it's only a matter of time before they come true right?" she mumbled, her voice barely audible.

Soonyoung found her hands and took them into his own, rubbing soothing circles on top of them.
"Y/n that's not going to happen, they're just dreams and nothing more, they're not real okay?" he tried to reassure.
"At this point they're not any worse than reality, so what's the difference..." she scoffed. He didn't know what to do. He had tried so many times to comfort her but nothing seemed to work.
"Do you trust me?" he asked, his tone serious but still soft. She nodded in response.
"Then trust me when I say that nothing bad will happen, I know bad things have already happened but we can't undo that, I won't let anything else happen to you or anyone else" he comforted. She looked down at their hands and then back up at the boy in front of her.

"Can you stay with me tonight?" she asked quietly,
"I don't want to be alone". He was surprised at first but quickly gave her a gentle smile and nodded. He stood up and walked around to the other side of the bed where he slipped under the covers. He laid on his side and faced her. She laid back down as well and stared back at him silently. She shifted awkwardly,
"can you..." she started, a faint blush growing on her cheeks.
"can you hold me?" she asked bashfully. She was grateful for the lack of light in the room, otherwise he would definitely be laughing at her rosy face.

He hesitated for a second before scooting closer to her. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to his chest, resting his hand on her head which was now tucked into his neck. He felt goosebumps go up his arm as he felt her warm breath on his neck, fanning down to his collarbone. She relaxed in his hold after a few seconds when he started to gently brush her hair with his hand, moving it out of her face and behind her ear.

She felt and listened to his heartbeat, which was uneven at first, but eventually slowed down to a steady rhythm. His heartbeat and the way his chest rose with every breath and the way his arms were wrapped securely around her body calmed her down. It made her feel at peace. Made her feel safe.

He felt her breathing slow and smiled to himself when he looked down to see her asleep. She looked so peaceful when she was asleep. He wished things were always like this, always this quiet and peaceful. He gently caressed his hand over her cheek and left it to rest behind her head. As he admired her face he felt his eyes grow heavy with sleep. He allowed himself to succumb to the sleep that was calling him and closed his eyes.
