After a few days, the four teens eventually ran out of food.
"I'm so hungry.." Seungkwan mumbled as his stomach growled.
"We all are" Chan replied somewhat passively.
"Well what do you expect when we haven't eaten in almost two days?" Seungkwan replied, glaring slightly at the younger male.
"Please don't fight again.." Y/n groaned as she buried her face in her hands after sitting on the couch. For the last few days Seungkwan and Chan had been fighting every chance they had. The stress, lack of food and sleep deprivation had been getting to all of them.

"Okay come on let's go then" Vernon said as he walked into the room with his car keys in one hand and the baseball bat in the other. The other three teens looked up at him confused.
"where are we going? It's not like we know where to get food from..." Y/n asked.
"uh yeah and it's not like there's human eating zombies outside or anything" Seungkwan added sarcastically.
"Well we can't starve so just bring all of your stuff incase we can't come back" Vernon answered as he made his way to the door.

Anxiety set in as Vernon slowly pulled the door open, peaking his head outside and scanning around for any signs of danger. Vernon stuck his head back into the room and waved the other three over, signalling that it was okay for them to leave the house.

Chan was the first to follow Vernon, with Y/n clinging lightly onto the sleeve of his school blazer as she shuffled behind him. Seungkwan hesitated for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and following the others outside. When he closed the door behind him, Vernon had already started getting the car ready, as the other two climbed into the back seats.

Seungkwan nervously jogged over to the other side of the car and quickly got into the passenger seat, swiftly closing and locking the door.
"hey just relax..as long as we stay together we'll be alright, okay?" Vernon reassured as he placed his hand on Seungkwan's shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. The elder exhaled slowly and nodded, replying with a nod and a small smile.

After 30 minutes of driving around desolate backroads, Vernon sighed and pulled over to the side of the road.
"we're not going to find anything unless we go into more populated areas..." he said as he turned around to face the others. The car was silent but they all nodded in agreement, understanding what they had to do.

The black jeep slowly and carefully rolled through the streets trying not to attract any attention. There were a few moments where the car caught the attention of the inhuman beings, yet to their luck, their attention was usually diverted to an unfortunate animal that laid lifelessly amongst the overgrown grass.

"Over there! look!" Y/n spoke up from the back seat as she pointed frantically to a small convenience store in the distance. The parking lot was empty and clear besides the many pieces of rubbish that littered the pavement and the crows that were rummaging through the overfilled trash can. Knocked over trash cans blocked the entry to car park causing Vernon to park the car across the road from the store.

Vernon jumped out of the car, with the baseball bat in hand and scanned the street. It was fairly empty apart from plastic bags blowing in the wind and debris from nearby buildings. He opened the back seat door and held it open for Y/n and Chan while Seungkwan walked around the car to join them.

The group of four jogged quickly to the entrance of the store. The electricity in the whole city was out causing the store to be pitch black. The door creaked open slowly as Vernon pushed it with the end of his bat. Y/n shone a flashlight on the ground in front of them, revealing smashed glass, broken shelves and items littering the floor.
