"You know I can walk on my own, I'm fine now" Y/n said as she double tapped Soonyoung's shoulder. He ignored her and continued walking. She rolled her eyes and hit his shoulder,
"did you hear me? I said I can walk, it's not like i'm dying" she whined, pulling herself over his shoulder slightly so she could look at his face. Without looking at her he dropped her legs from his grasp, allowing her stand on her own.
"Finally I thought you were—"
"shut up" Soonyoung shushed her and pulled her behind a tree, putting his hand over her mouth. The position they were in reminding her of the first time they met. She went to protest but noticed figures moving in the distance.

Vernon and Seokmin were quick to notice and hid behind a tree as well. The group in the distance were normal people just like them. There were around 4 guys, two of them had assault rifles and the other two had pistols strapped to their sides and machete knives in their hands.
"what the fuck..." Vernon whispered when he noticed they were pulling around a live zombie. It's arms were tied behind it's back and it had fabric tied around it's mouth preventing it from making a lot of noise. It was being pulled by a rope that was attached to its neck.

A man suddenly ran up to the group and fell to his knees in a beggar's position,
"please help me! I haven't eaten in days and everyone I know is dead, you're the first people i've seen-"
A gunshot. They shot him in the chest. The man who shot him kicked him so he was facing him and shot him again in the leg. The rest of the group laughed and walked right over him, leaving him to bleed out and die.

Once the group was out of eyesight, Soonyoung removed his hand over Y/n's mouth and let her go. The young girl instantly ran over to the man on the ground who was struggling to breathe. He had blood pouring out of his chest and his leg. They shot him in places that wouldn't kill him instantly on purpose, they wanted him to suffer. She desperately tried to stop the bleeding by putting her hands over the wound on his chest, putting as much pressure as she could, her hands becoming covered in blood. The man was looking at her with pleading eyes as he coughed up blood.
"pl..pleas..e.." the man mumbled, struggling to speak.
"Y/n.." Seokmin spoke up, his voice low and full of pity.
"we have to help him! he'll die!" she cried, tears spilling from her eyes.
"ki..ll me, please..." he begged, using the last of his energy to grab onto Y/n's arm. She went silent and stared down at the man in shock.
"but-"
"kill me...plea..se, I don't..want to become one.... of those things.." he pleaded, his grip tightening on Y/n. Vernon grabbed Y/n and pulled her back,
"he's going to die anyway, it's the right thing to do, at least he'll die human.." Vernon said in an attempt to comfort her.

He took the small pistol that was strapped to Y/n's side and stepped towards the man, dread painting his face. He aimed it at the mans head who closed his eyes in anticipation. Vernon's hand shook and sweat dripped down his temples.
"Give it to me, i'll do it" Soonyoung spoke up, noticing Vernon's hesitation to shoot. He knew how hard it was to kill someone and he didn't want Vernon to go through the same thing. Soonyoung gently took the gun from Vernon's hand and aimed it at the man. Seokmin grabbed Y/n and held her close to his chest, turning her away from the scene in front of them. He held his hand behind her head and kept it on his shoulder. Just as Soonyoung was about to pull the trigger Seokmin shut his eyes and turned his head away too.

Bang

Y/n jumped and Seokmin tightened his arms around her. There was a few seconds of silence before Soonyoung spoke up, seemingly unfazed by what happened.
"we need to leave, those gunshots would have attracted a lot of them, it's getting late anyway" he mumbled as he walked past the other three and started on their way back home.
