chapitre quarante quatre

jeongin.

felix and irene had left, leaving jeongin and his friends wondering in his room. they had tried to come with a good idea, to guarantee irene's safety, but nothing seemed like a good idea.

"if there's a chance that irene won't make it, should we still go for the plan ?" chan asked.

jeongin was picking at his nails. his three friends waited for him to answer. he did, after a small while.

"this should be up to her to decide. if she doesn't want to take the risk, we'll come up with another plan, but if she still wants to do it, knowing the risks, we can't stop her either."

"so what do we do, now ?" minho sighed, while falling on his back onto the bed.

"for now, i think we should head back," seungmin said. "it's getting late, and even if dohyeon does know what we're up to, we shouldn't let him know that we know."

"wait," minho got back up, "isn't it only 8pm or something ?"

they all gave him a desperate look.

"minho." chan called.

"what ? we haven't been here for a long time, have we ?"

"we have." seungmin and chan answered together.

"minho hyung," jeongin chimed in, "it's already 11pm."

"huh ? seriously ?" he exclaimed.

"yes, minho." chan shook his head, a small smile hanging on his lips. "just how bad is your sense of time ?"

"pretty bad." seungmin took the initiative to answer on his behalf.

"i'd say terrible, even." jeongin added.

"aren't you supposed to be my favorite child and always on my side ?" minho pointed a finger at the younger, who shrugged and smile brightly at him.

"alright, let's go." chan got up, the other two following after him.

minho went to say goodbye to jisung, who was in hyunjin's room, before joining the rest near the door. when jeongin turned back after closing the door behind them, he saw that jisung had walked out of the room, and was sitting beside hyunjin's on the couch, the both of them looking at him.

he walked to them, sitting on the one place sofa. it was obvious for the others that something seemed to bother him.

"hey jeongin," jisung called him, "is everything fine ?"

"yeah, i think."

"you think ?"

"there's just a small inconvenience in the plan so far, but it concerns irene noona so it's her decision to make, and we just have to wait until then, but it's kinda adding stress on the whole thing for everyone."

"and what's that thing ?"

"she has to face dohyeon at some point, though she has a dark past with him, and his wish right is probably to kill her whenever he thinks she came back in town, so it's highly dangerous to let her do it on her own, and here comes the problem : we don't have any idea on how to make it safe for her. i'd understand if she didn't want to do it, personally i know i wouldn't want to. and if she doesn't, it's fine, we'll eventually come up with something else, but i don't know, i can't help but feel stressed."

"it's okay," jisung shrugged, "stressing is normal and inevitable, especially in this kind of situation, i mean, it's a matter of life and death, right ? nothing could really make your stress disappear, you should probably take your mind off of it for a while, or until you meet with irene noona and the other again, and come up with something."
