chapitre quarante deux

hyunjin.

hyunjin was the first one to wake up, the following day. he tried to get back to sleep, he was still really tired. he had waited in the living room for jeongin's return, yesterday, when he went to irene's house.

but he didn't sleep right after his return. due to how worried he was, about the whole taking over the castle and throw away dohyeon's reign thingy, he hardly slept. he fell asleep around five am.

so why was he awake at nine am ?

as of now, he had already ate his breakfast, and was watching a movie.

"hi hyung !" he heard jeongin say, from behind him.

he turned away, and saw jeongin heading to sit beside him. he smiled fondly at his cutie of a boyfriend.

"hi, baby. you slept well ?" he asked.

"i didn't sleep yet."

"what the f- oh ! right, oh my god, how could i forgot ! you guys don't sleep at night !"

"yeah. it's been a while, but i still can't get used to it. and it's useless, anyway, i can't stay in the sunlight."

hyunjin pouted. "life here is hard for you, right ?"

hyunjin always knew that, but he never wanted to actually think about it —and even less formulate the thought.

his and jeongin's life weren't compatible, so how come him and jeongin were, as persons ? he always knew it was insane of him to date a vampire, but he couldn't help how much he liked him. and jeongin liked him too.

as much as it felt wrong, it felt just as right.

he was afraid for their relationship in the future. it felt good, right now, to have jeongin with him —things were going fine and happily.

but for sure, it wouldn't last forever. not only jeongin was preparing an attack on the castle (which was extremely dangerous) but obviously there would come a time where they would have to separate.

as he said, life was hard for jeongin, here. he couldn't adapt to the human life, and would literally burned to dust, at any contact with the sunlight.

he had to go back to his own world, at some point. wether it was in the castle, or any other place for vampires.

he was brought back from his thought when he heard jeongin's voice.

"it kinda is. but it's nothing unbearable." he shrugged.

"are you sure ?"

"yes. i've been okay, until now."

"how okay have you been ? isn't it hard, to be the only vampire between humans ? don't you miss hanging with your vampires friends ?"

"my friends come here often. sure, i don't see them as much, like only a few hours a day, which felt really weird at first, but it's okay, i guess. the situation can't be helped. for now, at least."

"but for how long can it be okay for you to be here ?"

jeongin slightly tilted his head on the side, observing hyunjin's serious face for a few seconds.

"i honestly can't answer that. i know that right now, i'm okay, and i know i'll be okay for a while."

"and what if you start realizing you're not okay anymore ?"

"then i'll see what to do when that times comes. hyunjin, can you tell me exactly what's wrong, instead of beating around the bush, with your questions ? do you start to be annoyed by me living in your house ?"
