chapitre cinquante

jeongin.

everyone was gathered outside the door of the closet, impatiently waiting for news about the situation. also, they were a bit worried about minho.

each of them felt bad for suspecting changbin so much, but they couldn't help it. someone who exposed themselves as a loyal dog of the enemy couldn't earn such easy trust, no matter if they've been of help at some point. worst case scenarios were a constant in the back of the involved's minds.

jeongin was so nervous that stood right in front of the closet's door, his hands and ear stuck on it, trying to hear whatever was happening.

everyone was edge. it hadn't been long since changbin and minho entered the room, but it felt like forever.

finally, jeongin heard something. it was minho's voice exclaiming something, though he couldn't quite catch what had been pronounced. still, anxiety filled him.

"i heard minho-hyung !" he whisper-shouted.

"what did he say ?" seungmin rushed him.

he didn't waste a second to run and stand by jeongin's side, imitating his position.

"i don't know, i just heard his voice."

"guys, come back here now." chan called them.

and he didn't even know what he was worried about. sure, of the bat being the enemy and hurting minho, who was alone in there. but regardless of what jeongin and seungmin were doing on the other side of the door, it wouldn't change a thing to their situation. but maybe he just needed to let his anxiety find a target he could 'control', so to speak.

"sorry." jeongin and seungmin mumbled together, taking a couple of steps back.

no one said anything more. they waited.

suddenly, the door opened. because everyone was so tensed, they all jumped, and seungmin even let out a small yell of surprise.

minho got out. he was perfectly fine. relieved, even, as he gave them a small smile and a nod. changbin followed, upset, and a little awkward.

but before anyone could ask anything, a third person exited the room.

"irene-noona ?" jeongin yelled, his eyes wide.

"i seem to have caused some troubles." she gave an embarrassed smile.

"how- why did you come here ? what about dohyeon ?"

hearing his name, everyone present tensed up.

"i left him in the cemetery. it shouldn't be long until he gets here, let's not waste any more time right now."

"okay."

jeongin wanted to ask more questions, but he understood that they were running out of time.

"did you manage to get the archives ?"

the situation was rather obvious, but who could blame her for wanting to make sure ? it was so important that she couldn't afford to assume things.

chan nodded. "we did. we've got everything."

she let out a breath. "that's a relief. let's get out of here now."

they all nodded.

"but how do we make the entrance of the office disappear ?" changbin asked.

"right, i didn't even think of it." seungmin covered his mouth with his hands, more shocked at the fact that an obvious question didn't cross his mind.
