Jeeves x Reader
Gender Neutral!ReaderI didn't like my boss. I just happened to be good with numbers and he was the only one that could see past my background. However, after I heard about what he did in Gumption I had enough of his heartlessness. I packed up the few personal items I had in the office and was about to walk out when he walked in.
Rockerduck flipped through a newspaper he picked up on his way in. He started speaking without looking up. "Ah _____ can you see what time the train leaves for Chicago. I don't want to be late on the first day of the Worlds Expo. Also I need dinner reservations for me and a friend at Jimmies tonight at 7:30 and order another case of the scotch I like."
Rockerduck finished his orders and plopped down in his desk chair and propped his feet up on his desk. Jeeves, who had followed him and sat at a small card table gave me a worried look.
"No." That made him snap to attention. No one ever told him no. "I'm leaving."
"Leaving?" That was the only word his mouth produced after he saw the box in my hand.
"Leaving, as to go away from. Far away in this case." I hugged the box.
"But why?! Who's going to look after my accounts and schedules?" He shot up in his seat slinging the newspaper to the side.
"I guess you will or get another assistant." I stepped towards the door but he blocked me.
I wasn't scared. I had never been physically threatened by Mr. Rockerduck and Jeeves wouldn't hurt me but he had other ways to bring people there knees.
"Why are you leaving? Did someone offer you more money? Name their price! I'll double, no triple, it. " I shook my head and went to pass him and he grabbed my arm. Jeeves stood abruptly. "I can't lose you. Anything you want, name it and it's yours. Want my desk? Want to come to Chicago with me?"
I snatched my arm out of his grasp, "That right there! You can't buy me like you do to those poor towns. Have a nice day, Mr. Rockerduck."
Jeeves opened the door for me and walked me to the exit. He looked upset.
"I'll be fine, Jeeves." I gave him a side hug. "Next time you're in the city look me up. We'll have dinner."
He perked up at that and nodded. He tipped his hat and went back upstairs.
