Chapter 37: Matushka

Kiana was stunned, still laying there while looking at the boy. The very fact that he spoke shocked her, but the very fact that the boy was now hunched back, with claws forming above his hands made him seem more animal than human. And then in a split second, the boy pulled the trigger on his sword. The sword glowed slightly, but it glowed brighter and brighter until suddenly the glow manifested into an extra length for the sword until the sword became so long, it may as well be a broadsword.

"Die."

Max uttered those words, and yet they seem to echo throughout the whole world, with many wondering where the source came from, before they felt a slight shaking from the ground.

The blonde boy dashed forward, disappearing in a blink that left a crater that shook the world and with another blink, followed the decapitation of all the zombies in a single slash. Initially, the zombies didn't move, but they continued to approach Max headlessly, with a few trying to get Kiana. The Herscherr could only look with bemusement, before her eyes widened when he raised his left hand. Immediately, wisps came out of the zombies and into Max's hand, before they all fell, completely lifeless and unmoving.

"What. . . How. . ."

'This feels like it's referencing something. Like a video game of some sort but I'm not sure where. . .' Kiana thought, as she watched Max hold his sword with one hand, before raising it high to the ground.

"RAAAH!!" Hearing Himeko's yell made him stop, before looking towards Himeko, who continued pushing back against the zombie. She seemingly sustained some gashes on her body, and the boy had an idea to get both the Herscherr and the large zombie.

"Kiana. . . Distract. Lisa."

Kiana snapped out of her trance, and stood up.

"You got it! Just stay there and look pretty," she ordered, before grabbing her pistols and dashed towards the stunned Herscherr, before shooting its back. The seem to hurt her, but the bullets just harmlessly bounce off her skin as if they were made of rubber.

"MAX, HOW DID YOU EVEN CUT IT--" She stopped herself when she noticed the Herscherr slowly turned to face her, before it brandished claws from her fingertips.

"Bring it, bitch!!" Kiana bravely called out, as she continued shooting her.

"You will regret calling me that!!"

And the two proceeded to duke it out with each other, with Kiana showing off her moves that she had improvised with Max's help and her own creativity, ranging from a no hand side flip, dodging an attempted stab, to parrying the Herscherr itself by throwing her pistol up to the air, grabbing the Herscherr's forearm when she attempted to stab her, and shot her face multiple times just to annoy her, before kicking it in the face, took the pistol to her other hand and began her barrage of gunfire once again.

While Kiana was curbstomping the crippled, but somehow still not hurt Herscherr, Max went off to help Himeko out by ramming himself towards it in high speed, causing the large zombie to fly backwards and smashed into a building.

"Okay?" Max asked, his breathing heavy, as if he was trying to contain his pain. Seeing Himeko nod assured him, before he dashed towards the large zombie.

"End."

Grabbing its legs, he yelled out, "KIANA!!" To get her attention. It indeed did, and seeing the boy had a firm grip on the zombie made her realise what exactly the boy was planning to do, and complied as she delivered a drop kick to the Herscherr's face before crawling away. Seeing the white haired now at a safe distance, the boy threw the large zombie straight towards the Herscherr with massive strength.
