The boy was immediately discharged from the hospital several hours later, and the boy found out that at that time, it was morning of the day after they had fought the Honkai. The examiners were shocked by his inhumanely fast recovery, as the burnt flesh on his left arm was already healing itself, even if such a feat was impossible in the first place. The boy could only tilt his head and shrug with an emotion that shows confusion, hiding the fact that he actually acknowledges this. Only he knew why and how, and he only decided to not tell anyone about it.
He was now wearing fresh clothes, which consisted of a short sleeves blue t-shirt, light brown pants and a different pair of sports shoes that he brought with him in preparation. There were several changes to the boy, but it was too minor for him to notice.
"Seriously though, how did you recover so quickly? You don't even have a healing or a defensive type Stigmata on you," Mei asked, genuinely surprised by the boy's quick healing. Once again, he shrugged as his response, hiding the fact that he knew how and why.
Stigmatas. The only way for the boy to properly describe it are tattoos for Valkyries to put at their backs to enhance their performance, and there were natural and artificial types as well. However, they carry a higher risk for its user to succumb to the Honkai.
Kinda like sports drugs, but this one was legal to use and they don't have to consume or inject something into their bloodstream for it to work. And there are more variables and functions it can do in comparison to sports drugs.
Don't take bad drugs please. Take your meds if you feel sick.
"So, are we going back to St. Freya?" Kiana asked.
'It seems so,' the boy replied, showing his typed reply from his phone.
"Aww. I wanted to see more of this city," Kiana moaned out in sadness, as the four continued to walk, with Bronya holding onto the boy's hand. It didn't feel strange to the boy, as he was quite used to someone, even a small child, to hold his hand. It reminded him of Sofia once holding his hand when he was just a child, and yet, it was at that very moment where he truly began to change for the better. For both himself, and his actions.
The boy let out a soft, and warm smile unconsciously, as they returned to their hostel to pack their bags.
. . . . .
"Welcome back, the four of you," Himeko greeted upon their return to St. Freya. On foot. For a few hours. It was visible that the girls were tired, with Bronya being carried at Max's back. And Max was the more unfortunate one of the bunch, as he had to singlehandedly carry all of their bags once they got tired of carrying it, so the moment they arrived, he just plopped to the ground with all the luggage he carried with him.
"Yeah. . . . We're back," Mei said with tired smile, while the boy was too exhausted to even move. The bandage that was wrapped around his left arm was no longer there, as it showed the same skin tone the boy had, except there was no hair on it.
It'll grow.
"You girls can go back to your dorms to rest. I want to talk to the boy. Alone," Himeko stated, a stern tone coming from her. The four knew that Max was in trouble, and the boy acknowledged this with a nod, before the three grabbed their bags and went their way to the dorms. They glanced behind to see Max, slowly standing up to recover himself, as he took deep breaths to calm himself down.
"You okay now?" Himeko asked. She was concerned, and the boy saw through this. He nodded slowly.
"Good. You know what I'm gonna say now, right?" She asked again. The boy nodded.
"No hard feelings?"
The boy made the 'okay' hand sign weakly with a smile.
"Now then. . . " Himeko heaved a sigh, and her stern tone had returned.
