Chapter 47: The Dragon's Master

She didn't know how long it has been since she was stuck in the room. Years pass by, and yet it felt like an eternity for her. Even her white horns/ears felt uncomfortable with the claustrophobic room she was set as her 'living space' now. All she wanted to do was to bask in the sunlight once again, not this weird artificial light that was perpetually hung up on the ceiling of her room.

But it's been different recently. Food and water hasn't arrived for two days, and she was starving. She could tell something had happened, if the sounds of banging and muffled screaming of children and possibly teenagers behind the walls was any indication, but because of the intricacies of the door and the technology that she knew nothing of, she couldn't get out of her room. And likely so were for the other unfortunate captives. She only cared for herself, and tried to distance herself from the fact that everyone is dying a slow death, including herself.

Suddenly, she felt something in her body, like electric shocks all over. She could tell that this was from her 'Master', and yet it was also different, in many many senses. She didn't know who this person is and what is their relation to her 'Master', but all she could do was to wait until they were able to find her. Despite the slim chance, she now had something to look forward to, and the embers that was about to fade from her spirit was slowly reigniting.

Meanwhile

"A'ight, Max. Did you bring what you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee--"

If there was ever a record of a person being able to say a single word in a long period of time, Sofia would already have been able to beat them with the long amount of time she prolonged the word 'need'.

She only noticed that Max carried around a backpack that seemed too impractical to carry about, and the clothes he wore consisted only of a pair of blue and black shorts that does not complement with the fact that mosquitoes were flying everywhere, a simple blue long sleeved shirt, and a pair of leather-like gloves that was modified by Schicksal's R&D to not only be able to withstand and block cuts, it was also able to block bullets and hold off ridiculous amounts of force. His expression remained the same ever since they dropped off of the jet; calm, yet doubtful of the situation.

After about 3 minutes and a purple face later, Sofia finally took an insanely deep breath that it wouldn't be surprising that a tree would rattle in its roots before finally calming herself down. Clearing her throat, she then continued on, "did you bring what you need for this, Max?"

The boy nodded. Inside the bag were full of water and provisions, despite the fact that Himeko claimed that it would take only about a few hours to be done with.

It truly seemed like Max knew something none of them don't, if the glowing blue eye that faded back to pink was any indication. His view was fine, but every single time the glowing blue hue came to his eye, it pains his head, even if he had shown no emotion whatsoever. He guessed that he was channeling through someone's emotion, but unfortunately he was unable to figure out whose. It also wasn't helped by the fact that he began to remember more of his dream.

Especially on two figures. A figure with purple hair and yellow eyes, and yet a petite figure and another girl with blue hair and white horns. . . .

The boy stood silently in front of the figure in question. Her yellow eyes seem to pierce through his body, and yet he stood firm. Seeing this, she was impressed, and flicked her hair back.

"I'm impressed, my son. Even after everything you went through you are still living." Her haughty voice that echoed into a non-existent background caused the boy to grip his fist.

'. . . Who are you?' He questioned with his mind. 'You're not my mother. You were never there to raise me.'

"I am Sirin, my son. My blood flows in yours, and with such sense, I am your mother."
