"How did you get here?!" Sirin exclaimed once again, before the priest slashed to the child. His weapon went through. Sirin, who initially seemed shock, soon cackled.
"You think you can hurt me, Priest of Quanta? Did you really think that puny spear is capable of hurting me?" Sirin taunted. Soren, sporting a plain face, spun his spear in his hands, before turning around, facing away from her, garnering a confused expression.
"I ended this fight with one single blow."
With Soren's words, multiple slash marks were seen on Sirin, who screamed in pain before disappearing into codes of 0s and 1s. The boy immediately stopped convulsing, the pain disappearing like instantaneously. He had a shocked expression, before looking at Diake with a dumbfounded expression.
"We must get out of here. It is collapsing and will be cut off from its branch if we do not hurry," Soren stated to the boy, who sat up, confused. He looked down to his bloodied left hand, still clutching to Seele's heart. Noticing the boy's expression, he proceeded to take hold of the boy by the waist, and in the blink of an eye, they were gone.
.
With the Sirin virus effectively damaging the core of the Earth, earthquakes occurred all throughout the world, with damages, lives, and such forth costing millions. However, it was far from over, as Honkai emerged from the cracks of the ground of various sizes, strength and speed that no one could ever have accounted for. In a span of hours, whole civilizations collapsed, billions of lives snuffed out by Honkai, and those who still fought never lasted long against them.
As Kiana held onto the corpses of Bronya and Mei, sobbing, Honkai began to converge onto her, shredding and pounding the girl whose spirit had died with her friends, until all that was left were pools of blood and very small chunks of flesh all about. Her white hair strands flew along with the wind, as if signifying the end of the Kaslana bloodline, and subsequently, the last defender of humanity.
Soon, the world was no more a 'world'. The Herscherr of the End had awoken from the chaos, and with humanity having no other way of surviving, they could only pray and seek salvation to their unfortunate souls, before the world was razed, clean of all humanity, buildings, technology, plants. . . All signs of life vanished with a single murmur of the Herscherr.
And with a dreadful end, the Tree of Yggdrasil allowed its leaf to wilt, as the bubble deflated, and ceased from existence.
.
The boy and the priest had observed all this occur, and the boy had an even more traumatized expression from seeing all life snuffed out by just a single person.
"I know, my child. I know."
They soon landed at a branch, and they watched as worlds were disappearing in breakneck speed. Max could see that these worlds were alternative worlds, where stories of those who held importance to the Tree. Seeing these worlds disappearing inexplicably broke the boy. All those lives. Billions, no, quintillions of lives, all died inevitably.
"Max, listen to me, young one," Soren took hold of the boy, who looked at the man with dead eyes.
'He is giving up,' he thought.
"Young one, the worlds you see that could not be saved are inevitable ones. Your world can still be saved," the priest stated, holding his shoulders tightly. The priest could see tears streaming down his face. It seemed like the information and knowledge of all this broke the boy's mind. Seeing such a broken state, the priest did something he naturally does.
He hugged the boy, whispering Latin words that the boy didn't understand, and yet, it assured him and slowly returned him back to his senses. His breathing softened, but his crying continued as he held onto the priest tightly.
