"She won't demote you?" Fu Hua asked the boy. He nodded in response.
"Why?"
In response to this, he gave her the stacks of paper worthy of a short story to Fu Hua, who took it and read through it.
"Oh my. . . Is. . . Is that so. . ." Was all she could say as she returned the paper back to the boy, who smiled in response as he nodded.
"I. . . I didn't--" she was suddenly cut off when the boy suddenly hugged Fu Hua, surprising her. Due to his mute status, the boy pat her at her back to assure her that it was fine. It seem to work, as Fu Hua heaved a relieved sigh and hugged him back.
"Okay, okay. You're happy as you are. I get it," Fu Hua told the boy as he smiled. Pulling back from the hug, the boy then typed something to his phone the moment he took it out and after a few seconds, he showed it to her.
'She said hi to you and told me that you and Himeko are going to train me. Are you fine with that?' He had written down.
"Well, I've been teaching you a lot. What's wrong with me training you, then?" Fu Hua responded with a smile, and the boy grinned, knowing what the response had meant.
'That is great! I'll see you tomorrow, alright?' He asked, and in response Fu Hua gave the boy a headpat.
"Okay. See you tomorrow, alright?"
And with that, the two split paths, never to meet until the next day, or so Max had thought. Being a philosophical figure was something that Max wanted to become, but due to circumstances, he might have to reconsider that option. Looking outside of the window of the hallway, he saw students leaving the academy, as it was finally time to leave. The boy nodded slowly at this, before noticing that other students were also still in school.
'I think it's best that I--' His train of thought was cut off when he heard an 'excuse me' right behind his back. The boy stopped in his tracks, wondering if the source of the voice was calling out to him or her friends, and stopping there acted as a failsafe in case that it wasn't him that was called.
Luckily, he was picked for a reason.
"I am talking to you, mister," she continued, and the boy, now assured that it was him that she was talking about, turned around to look at her and immediately blinked out of shock, but for a different reason.
The woman had light brown hair, with one covering her left eye, with both eyes being purple, but instead of wearing a school uniform, she wore clothes that resemble a lot more of maids in skirts, in addition to some cleavage and two black horns. She also had a mole below her right cheek, acting as a beauty mark. In addition, she had a smile on her face.
In short, he was looking at a beautiful maid who seem out of place in the school.
'Why is a maid in a Valkyrie school?' He thought, tilting his head.
"Thank you. Hmm. So you are the new male student now, aren't you?" She asked. Her voice changed from that of a lost person to that of a curious one. The boy nodded once, but he knew what she planned to do.
Well, he thought he knew what she planned to do, but oh so wrong he was.
Out of nowhere, the boy felt the blade of a scythe behind his back, as the woman in front of him held a scythe with one hand, while still having the smile on her face. This would have scared the ever living daylights out of anyone.
But Max was an entirely different human being.
Max smiled back in response, despite the threat of the scythe being pulled down and cutting his head off right then and there. He knew how dangerous his situation was, but he knew that the safety of the academy would not let her kill him.
