Flashback
"Right over there, sweetie. Yep. Right there. You got it right. Good job."
For many, this might get taken out of context. In actuality, the two were washing away the frames and pictures that hung in the living room, with the others probably going through mindless conversation, or went outside for some fun in the snow again. The boy smiled as he continued cleaning the frame until it was completely clean of dust. All of them. Taking a step back, he visibly flinched, looking at the pictures.
It seemed like all the pictures taken and subsequently hung were a part of a large generation of a family, with the largest one being a large group of people of different height and age, but they were all smiling merrily.
"Ah, that's the family gathering we had a few years ago, before my husband left for the army," she replied, heaving a sigh as she became entranced on one certain face that the boy wasn't sure where she was looking at. The faces were a mix between good looking to average. No one looked ugly (at least by Max's standards), and as far as Max was concerned, the females in said pictures were incredibly beautiful in their own right.
'Where is he?' He typed. Before showing it to her, his brain answered it simply for him. It was an answer that made him not ask her out of fear of him being called retarded.
'They should have a family portrait somewhere.'
Slowly setting his phone down, he looked at the other pictures and portraits that hung proudly on the walls, and noticed her face on a family. Seeing her smile alongside a slightly taller man, with both looking young and very happy. The man had dark brown hair and purple eyes that shone faintly because of the camera's light reflecting off it. He also had a scar on his left cheek that was noticeable with the naked eye. The boy then realised what his occupation was.
If a man were to wear a uniform of a military general and you immediately assume otherwise, you might need to consider studying back to school.
Looking down to another photograph that seemed relatively new (in comparison to everything else), he spotted the couple, but with two others, both of which were males. One had dark blonde hair and blue eyes, with tan skin that made him seem out of place with the others, but his grin was genuine happiness, and Max couldn't deny that. But the moment his attention shifted to the other boy, it felt like his heart stopped beating for a split second while his muscle stiffened.
It was Karna.
There was no question that it was the same boy he met at that moment in South Korea.
His messy brown hair, his gorgeous purple eyes, everything. It was really him to a T. Connecting the dots together, he immediately turned to look at Lisa, before he forcefully dragged Himeko from her conversation.
"Hey, Max! What is wrong with y--" she stopped when the boy stopped in front of the picture frame and pointed towards said picture frame, leading her to look up to it and gasped.
"Y-you're serious?!" She whispered to the boy. Seeing the boy nod made her worried almost immediately.
"I think it's best that we don't tell her," Himeko whispered. The boy responded with an expression equivalent of a 'u wot?'.
"Look, she's our host. We have to be professional about this, and we can't let her get us evicted."
The boy responded by grabbing Lisa's wrist and pulled her away from the others, much to Himeko's chagrin.
'That boy. He really is starting to remind me of him.'
"What is it, Max?" Lisa questioned.
'Did you have kids?' He asked.
