Chapter 41: Operation Max

He didn't quite expect so many more bubbles popping and disappearing at a rate faster than more bubbles could be produced.

"My oh my. Looks like the tree really doesn't want these other worlds. . ." He stated, crossing his arms. He watched as the bubbles continued to disappear, before noticing a small speck coming out of a bubble before the bubble disappear.

'It's him. Out of another world, and into the next,' he thought, before seeing the speck enlarge, revealing the speck as another human, whose head turned to look at him. He saluted in response, and the human saluted back before dashing into another world.

Max's world.

He watched as the human entered the bubble without effort before turning back to look at the other worlds.

'I wish him luck.'

Meanwhile

"So what's our first lead?" Mei questioned.

"So last night, someone tampered with the circuit breaker. No one was last seen there, so it has to be an outsider," Emilia theorized.

"What do you suspect?" Theresa asked.

"Invisibility. Even when it's night, it was brightly lit, so they had to find a way to slip past the guards unnoticed. New technology, I assume," Emilia responded.

"I'll contact Sofia for any information if they have such technology in the first place," Himeko replied, taking her phone out and contacted Sofia.

Meanwhile

Sofia was busying herself in useless talk with Tesla, before her phone rang.

"Hm? Himeko?"

"Is something the matter?" Tesla asked.

"Just a colleague calling me. Must want more beer or something."

Picking up the call, she proceeded to ask.

"Hello, Himeko?"

"Hey, Sofia. Max's kidnapped."

". . . I see."

"You're. . . Oddly calm about this."

"I have to. I can't panic. Have anything to ask?"

"O-okay. Does Anti-Entropy have any technology that allows invisibility?"

"They're not that advanced to acquire invisibility just yet."

"I see. Do you have any suspects who have them however?"

"Hmm. . . Tesla."

She turned to look at the red head.

"What?" She asked.

"Name me any one who might just have enough smartass and technology to get invisibility armour or something like that," she questioned.

"Hmm. . . Maybe Korea?" She guessed.

"Hm? What made you assume that?" Sofia asked.

"They're more advanced in technology than even Japan, and that says a lot, honestly. Even if with the gender inequality being prevalent over there, the technology they produce is superior in comparison to other countries. I've seen one of their equipment, and it was stronger than even juggernaut armour. If any other country has that technology, it's likely they got it from Korea."

"Which Korea?"

"What Korea is actually rich and not perpetually stuck in a socialist state, Sofia?"

"I'm just asking for confirmation, sheesh."

Seeing Tesla shake her head, she responded to Himeko accordingly.
