Two days later

"Good job, Max. You're getting better with that sword now," Himeko commented on the boy as they place their swords to their backs. The boy panted as he did so, as in comparison of him against Himeko was the same as an amateur being taught by a professional.

He assumed himself being an amateur due to his master of none status as a Knight, before nodding and stared at his gloves.

Throughout the past two days, the attention of him was downplayed, as now no one bothered to give him eye contact, and he didn't mind this. It was likely that they were so used to the one male having the opportunity to flip up a girl's skirt that a single day of not having their skirt flipped made them feel off. But then again, it does mean that the boy really is different from 'him'.

"Something the matter?" Himeko asked, raising an eyebrow. The boy took the notepad and pencil he placed near the doorway and wrote something down to her.

'I miss my mom.'

"Aww. Sweetie, you'll be fine here," Himeko responded to the boy, causing the boy to become somewhat dejected, as he looked to the side with droopy eyes. Seeing this, Himeko felt a sense of familiarity, before sighing as she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Listen, you can go back to your mom during the summer, but only if you study and train to the fullest, okay?" Himeko told the boy. This invigorated him, his eyes wide and sparkled the moment she mentioned 'back to your mom'. The boy immediately put a thumbs up of approval as his response soon after, causing Himeko to chuckle and ruffled the boy's hair.

"I still wonder why you were chosen to be in this school, but so long as you don't waste your life moping around, I'm sure you'll exceed everyone's expectations," Himeko told the boy. "Remember. Treat this school as if it's your home, and your dorm mates as something akin to a family."

Upon hearing the words 'dorm mates' and 'family' in a single sentence caused the boy to seemingly laugh, before he calmed down immediately and wrote: 'Funny how that's coming from you, since they're far from family material'

"I know, but they are family to each other."

'True.'

"It will take a while for them to get used to having you around, but so long as you don't be 'him', you will be fine."

'She mentioned 'him' again. . .' He thought, as he sighed internally. 'He' was the main reason why everyone except for a select few were very mistrusting of him, but the boy knew 'he' must have reasons for doing so other than to satiate his lust. He remembered Theresa mentioning that he was from a generation of soldiers that fought against the Honkai, so he was piecing things together as to how that could connect to the incident. Before long, his thoughts were snapped out by Himeko calling his name out. He flinched slightly before looking at Himeko.

"The principal has assigned the squad on a mission. This time, I'll be supervising you so you won't do anything crazy like last time, got it?" Himeko told the boy. The boy saluted in response, nodding soon after.

"Good. Tell your squad mates about this. Oh, and bring Fu Hua with you. Wake them up at 7. Dismissed."

Next day

"It's great to see everyone up and running just fine today," Himeko stated, while everyone was still in their pyjamas. All but Fu Hua even brought blankets with them, and Max was in a bear onesie while carrying a sleeping Bronya in his arms. The sky was very dark blue with a tint of orange. It was clear that it was dawn, as the rest carried their baggage with them with majority of them yawning, except for Fu Hua, again.
