They finally found a place to stay, and luckily the boy had a room all to himself. He does not want to get smacked by Kiana, get smacked by Kiana because he was staying with Mei, or getting the cops called to arrest him by Kiana because he was sleeping in the same room as Bronya.

Yes, for some reason, all the thoughts he had had to depict Kiana in a negative light.

As soon as he set down his bags, he inspected his weapons on the bed as he dismantled his Five-seveNs and P90. After confirming that they seem fine, he reassembled them efficiently, assuring himself that there was no bullet in the chambers. He then inspected the two swords he had, before holding the longsword by the blade. Usually, this was dangerous due to how sharp the sword was, but due to the gloves he wore and his expertise with swords, he did so without injuring himself.

'Half swording. This is gonna be useful against any of those Templars if they ever come around,' he thought, letting the blade rest on his shoulders, again, without injuring himself somehow. At this time, the door was knocked.

"Hey, open up!"

'Oh great. It's Kiana.'

Repositioning his scabbards so that the longsword was at his back and his shortsword was at the back hip, he then opened the door, indeed revealing Kiana, who proceeded to cross her arms.

"I told you to open up ten minutes ago!" She said out to him.

'It didn't even last that long though. . .' He thought, sweat dropping.

"Idiotka seem to not know about time itself," Bronya chimed in, appearing at Kiana's side.

"Wha--"

"Anyway, subject Max. We are about to leave the city to its borders. Are you prepared already?" Bronya asked the boy, ignoring Kiana, who already baffled by the sudden bias from Bronya to the boy. The boy raised his finger, before he closed the door. Grabbing his pistols, putting them into its holsters, and his P90 with its strap on the other shoulder, he then opened the door and spotted that all three were waiting for him.

'You should've went ahead, y'know,' the boy stated, showing the paper he had wrote on.

"And what, let you be suspected of being our stalker since you followed us?" Kiana replied, making the boy blink in response with a visibly surprised emotion.

Perhaps his perception of Kiana was somewhat skewered now.

"Actually, I would like that."

Nevermind. Forget about it. She still hates him.

The boy had a visibly angered look due to his emotion basically summed up in this one emoticon:

(-_-*)

"K-Kiana-chan, he's our teammate. Can you at least be more polite with him?" Mei begged, as the boy seemingly heaved a disappointed sigh as he closed the door behind him and proceeded to walk ahead, not caring about their petty argument that occured.

'Y'know what. Maybe they should've let me have a dorm of my own,' he thought sadly as he walked out the hostel they were temporarily staying at. Taking out his phone, he saw the time being '16:41', with no new messages from his mother, which worried him.

'Is she gonna be alright?' He thought, before having thinking with assurance, 'I forgot that she's a Valkyrie. Of course she would.' Checking at the map of the entire city, he proceeded to check for the news for any sources of Honkai emergence. Finally, he found one news site claiming that the Honkai was last spotted at the borders of the city, dangerously close to the roads. The roads itself was surrounded by dead trees due to an apparent fire that burned the forest in the days before the Honkai were spotted. Eyewitnesses described that there were 3 of them, and all three were consistent in what they looked like: giant boars, with one looking like a typical Psychic type look, the other very 'Tron'-like, as evident by them having a blue colour palette instead of pink. The boy knew them as Ganesha and Parvati respectively, but the other one had a fiery red colour palette, surprising the boy.
