Chapter 51: The Past Simulacrum

"You guys seriously need some explaining to do."

Himeko could only look at Squad V and the auxiliary members of the squad for a full second before she got a headache, especially with Max, who's currently having two different girls now being at his side, while Squad V was visibly offended by this. The objective of acquiring the weapon was currently now in safe hands in the Hyperion, and the children that were trapped in the facility were rescued by the arrival of the Salome, another airship Anti-Entropy managed to build based out of the remnants of the Selene with major improvements to it.

"Max is our Master. Enough said," white haired Bella stated, causing the boy to sweat drop while having a closed eye nervous smile. He really didn't expect this sudden turn of events, and the fact that the two wouldn't let go of his arm because he couldn't tell them off from not doing it really didn't help mitigate the issue.

"Honestly, I see Max having a much better luck than I expected," Seere commented offhandedly, earning him glares from Kiana and the two Bellas.

Shaking her head, Sofia decided to speak up. "So how the hell are you gonna report this to Otto?" She questioned.

"I think Max should personally answer to that," Himeko responded, causing the boy to blink.

"Ahahahahaha. I am very impressed by you, Max. Very. I have heard of your endeavors and multiple admittance to hospitals, but the very fact that now you are here, standing before me with a girl floating on your shoulder and a Judgement Class Honkai holding onto your arm is quite the astounding feat."

The boy stood with a nervous smile as the little blue haired girl somehow became smaller, floating about with an odd smile on his face, while the white haired girl glared daggers towards the man, knowing who this man was.

"Now, you were sent here for the report, I presume?"

The boy nodded. In his hand were sheets of paper filled with his handiwork, passing it towards Otto despite the heavy resistance from Benares.

"Master, he is an evil person."

"Oh, is that what you think?" Otto's question caused Benares hiss at the man, grabbing Max's arm even tighter than before. Max, who was suffering from the sudden unexpected strength that came from Benares, flinched. His eyes widened from the sudden painful sensation from Benares, before Bella threw herself onto Benares' head to make the dragon-human notice the pain the boy was going through. Realising this, she immediately softened her grip.

"Apologies Master. It's just that--" she stopped herself when the boy only let out a weak smile to her.

"We humans are indeed destructive, chaotic and even unnecessarily evil. Comparing us to dogs isn't even enough to describe how evil we truly are."

"See?! He agre-- wait. . ." Benares seemed to realised that Otto agreeing with her meant that something fishy was ongoing.

"However, there are still humans who are genuinely kind to others and to animals, regardless of how threatening they are to them. Riddle me this. What do you think would happen if humanity was completely erased from this world?" Otto questioned.

"Simple. Nature will be restored back to its former glory, and life would sustain itself once again," Benares declared proudly.
