That day felt like nothing eventful had occurred. At least, for Emilia Jellicoe.
It was the same thing every single morning for the brunette girl, as she woke up, help herself with a bowl of cereal, take a long, comfortable bath, dress herself in a short sleeved shirt with baggy army pants, wore a pair of desert boots and fingerless gloves. Grabbing her twin katanas and a singular pistol, she proceeded to fasten the katanas to her back while her pistol was set at her waist.
"When would our leader return at this point?" She asked rhetorically, crossing her arms across her chest. There she sat on her bed, pouting. Her room was as simple as a typical dorm room. That is, it is just two rooms: her bedroom, and her bathroom. The walls were made of pure metal, with her closet being opened with sliding doors in the wall. The table and chair set right in front of the plain looking bed that was set up at the very left side wall of the room. The door that led to the entrance and exist of the room was at the wall at the girl's right. A certain part of the wall was uniquely coloured blue in contrast to the full gray of the room, despite the lack of a doorknob or hinges.
Suddenly the door slid upwards, revealing a slim woman in a skintight suit with her gray hood concealing much of her face. Her right hand had a large reddish-pink claw that was visible to Emilia. But to her, it seemed harmless.
"They're waiting for you to come," she told the brunette.
"Context?" Emilia playfully asked, acquiring a scoff from the woman.
"Just get to the meeting room already."
. .
"Heya! Anything I missed?" She cheerfully called out upon entering the room. It felt like she cut off tension almost immediately, as the people present cleared their throats.
"Emilia, you were supposed to be here 2 minutes ago. What were you doing?" A person asked. They had very androgynous features, making their gender something that even she is unable to figure out, not helped by the fact that their face was covered by a rabbit mask.
"Sorry. Raven never specified which meeting room it was," she replied immediately.
"Okay. Fine, take a seat. You didn't miss much."
Upon taking a single seat in the room of 5 people, the meeting began once again.
"Was anyone notified about the recent event?" Rabbit asked.
"Regarding that giant explosion in Korea? Yeah, we heard 'em," a gruff voice replied. Emilia kept a straight face, even though she was admittedly surprised that she wasn't informed on such event. She even slightly doubted that such an event could possibly happen in Korea of all places, but decided to wholeheartedly accept it as the truth.
The World Serpent has eyes all over the world, and their informant was never inaccurate.
"Good. Did you know what caused it?"
"That, we do not," a soft, female voice said soon after. After around two seconds of silence, the Rabbit spilt the news.
"It was caused by a boy named Karna," Rabbit informed them.
"Karna. . . Like the Mahabharata?"
"Unlikely so. However, he is dead, and as such, he is not the focus of our meeting."
This caught their attention, as even Emilia became interested in this discussion.
"The boy beside him who watched him die. Max Reinard. According to our informant, he is one of the survivors of the Honkai Eruption 11 years ago."
"So what's so important about him?" Emilia asked, raising her eyebrow.
"He is another male, likely now being the only male having Honkai adaptability," he announced. Whispers were heard throughout the meeting, mumbling to each other or to themselves regarding this news. Emilia, however, didn't really seem to give a damn.
