After about 10 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of sparring as requested by Sakura (with the result becoming a tie for both of them), the two 'talked' to each other about their lives. This time, Sakura promised that they would speak in the format in which the boy can only answer with yes or no, now knowing that the boy couldn't speak.

"So, do you have a family?"

A nod.

"Where are they--no. Are they alive?"

A nod.

"They live pretty far from here, don't they?"

Another nod.

"And you're clearly not from here."

Another nod. The boy could see that she was attempting to ask a 'how' question, since usually, unusual people would always be asked how they got there. It wasn't unusual to ask such a question, the boy was taught.

He watched as the pinkette struggled to find a sentence to say to the boy that would correlate with the yes or no policy she implemented to herself for Max. Seeing just how much she tried to struggle, the boy decided to ask her himself by writing down on the dirt ground with the sheath. She noticed the boy doing it, and fell silent as the boy continued writing. He was only capable of writing hiragana, and hoped that such a language was already made in Japan.

Hiragana was formed and understood by the second half of the 9th century, and the boy assumed that it was after said century.

And fortunately for him, she understood his question.

'How long would it take from now to get to your village?'

"That would take about 200 steps."

'They don't use minutes or hours. . .'

The situation (for the boy) felt a bit more complicated now.

'I see.'

The boy sat back and took a deep breath.

Meanwhile

"How is his progress?"

"He seems fine. We are currently unable to pinpoint the virus's exact location, however."

"Then where was it detected?"

Otto questioned his assistant, Amber. The lady oddly resembled an older Kiana, with an orange visor and a gray jumpsuit that showed off her cleavage. This choice of clothing may be picked on purpose by Otto.

"It is in the village that the pink haired girl came from. However, until he gets there, we are unable to get there."

"I see."

"Sir? Why are you in no rush to get there? The virus may spread all the way into the system and corrupts Shicksal's database, effectively rendering us immobile."

"Correct. The virus can cause irreversible damage to us, but think about it this way, Amber. Max has the capability to absorb Honkai energy from other hosts, as we have observed in the battle against the proto-Herscherr in Germany."

"So. . ."

"So, regardless of where it would spread, the boy can absorb them all no problem. He just needs to find a way to use all that energy and blast them out so he wouldn't suffer pains worse than death from the overload of Honkai in his body."

Otto looked towards Max, who was still in simulation.

"Besides. Things seem to become very interesting indeed."

At Max

Suddenly the world around them shifted, and turning to face Sakura, she disappeared in his sights. He blinked, wondering how did all this happen, but then he reminded himself of his situation.
