Y/N's POV
Nothing much have happened after our literature class with Mister Jin. It all proceeded like how it usually does. After our literature class came our Science class taught by Miss Kang and Mathematics taught by Mister Sun. After those subjects came our study period, an hour before lunch.
It's rare to see someone really studying in study period. Most just opt to doze off or converse quietly with their friends quietly. And no one really cares about what you do, as long as you keep quiet.
I took a glance at Lin Fan to see her focused on the papers on her desk, lips pursed and sometimes mumbling as she wrote. Most probably rushing her works that are due this afternoon. Typical for her to do that. Because she said, and I quote.
"Y/N, if you do things last minute, you'll feel pressured and urge your brain to think more. In pressure you'll finish your works quicker than you think. It's like a golden weapon against your procrastination demons!"
I rolled my eyes at the memory and turned away to look at Yu Yan. As expected, I saw her reading, eyes wildly scanning the page and furiously writing down on her notes, eyebrows furrowing in confusion every once in a while. It's quite obvious that she's one of the students who takes study period seriously. She is so serious in studying that sometimes, even at lunch, she would be reading while eating.
"My life's meaning isn't about eating."
She told us one time when Lin Fan and I are trying to make her eat more. Let's just say that Lin Fan and I clearly disagreed and made her watch us as we stuffed our faces just to spite her.
I huffed, already getting bored and already slightly hungry. I've done all my projects and assignments, written my notes for this week's classes. There's nothing really left for me to do, well, except study more. But I'm too lazy for that right now. See, here is where the problem lies. I am bored, but at the same time, I'm too lazy to do anything.
Sighing to myself, I bent my arms flat on the desk and rested my head on them, face down. A nap is always the answer to incurable boredom. It fixes anything, really. I relaxed my shoulders and closed my eyes, trying to tune out the occasional mumbles from everyone else in the room. And it was peaceful then. Well, that was until I felt a poke on my shoulder.
I internally groaned and chose to ignore it, hoping that whoever they are, they'll get the memo that I don't want to interact. But I guess some people are just dumb as not even 3 seconds later, I felt another poke, this time more persistent, followed by another.
"Hey, Lee Y/N?" There came a small, almost squeaky voice. I immediately recognized it as my seatmate, Lin Xiaozhai.
"Hey." She said again, her pokes continuing.I clenched my eyes and pursed my lips in order to hold back any nasty remarks that is close to slipping out. I shouldn't be getting annoyed at something as petty as this, but this is sleep we're talking about!
"Umm, you see, I don't think that's a smart thing to do." I heard Lin Fan say.
"Why not? I just have to-"My irritation is slowly but surely reaching its breaking point. I took a deep breath, as I opened my eyes and lifted my head, swatting away the finger that is still continuing to poke me. This action cut Lin Xiaozhai off as she turned to me, eyes wide, staring at me and I stared back at her blankly.
"What the hell do you want?" I asked, snapping as I waited for her to say something.
"What? Aren't you about to say something?" I continued, eyes slowly narrowing into a glare as she just sat there, her hand hanging in the air. I rolled my eyes as that the room had turned silent. From the faint mumbles, to the scratching of a pen against paper. Just quiet.
