30. Ordinarily Not

Y/N's POV

"I don't wanna go, mom." I answered firmly before putting another spoonful of food on my mouth and chewing as I looked at mom, who's sitting across me.

It's been a few days now since the beginning of the winter break and I've been enjoying it, honestly. Minus the complaints and whines from Kong Xue'er, it's been well. Also, over the past days, I've been clearing up our basement so it can function as my workspace for writing or recording for the play. It's definitely more peaceful in there than in my room I have to share with Kong Xue'er.

"Don't you think that we should support Xue'er on her competition? Plus, there's a lot of great places we could visit in the city." Mom tried to convince me but I took one glance at Kong Xue'er, who's eating at the other end of the table and shook my head.
"I'd rather stay here. Besides, I'm working on a big project. You guys just enjoy." I replied and flashed mom a small smile.

"But Y/N, we won't be back until next week." Mom sighed and a few lines appeared on her forehead.
"I'll be fine mom. I promise not to burn the house down." I joked and that made her let out another sigh in thought.

"If Y/N jie stays here, can I, too?" Minsu spoke up, giving mom a hopeful look which mom only replied to, with a stern look.
"Absolutely not, Lee Minsu." Mom spoke, making me let out a small snicker.

Honestly, it's like the heaven is smiling down at me, by the luck that is constantly happening to me. Maybe it's because I've been really kind... Well, whatever it is, I'm grateful to be given the chance to be away from Kong Xue'er. Mom said that the girl has some competition to attend to, out of town and took it as the chance to have a vacation as well.

Only she, was thrilled about that idea. Luckily, I have a reasonable excuse to stay at home and not go with them. Minsu, on the other hand wasn't very successful in trying to convince mom to let him stay in the house as well.

"Don't worry about me, mom. I'm sure I can handle a week being alone." I spoke up to further convince her as I could tell that she's still hesitant.
"How about this. I want you too really think about it. We aren't leaving until tomorrow morning , anyway." She breathe out.

I thought of it for a moment. I'm getting a sudden surge of déjà vu from when I've been in a situation similar to this. When I thought of quitting my club. I just nodded along to her request. I'm certain that my decision wouldn't change anymore. Going with them means absolutely getting nothing done and having to tolerate Kong Xue'er.

Breakfast finished and after we all washed up, mom headed out to the shop, while Kong Xue'er headed out as well. It's only Minsu and I left at home. Knowing him, the possibility of him going out is zero to none. Actually, since the accident with those Class F boys, he's been trying to stick to me like glue. There would even be occurrences when I'd sleep with him in his room, which honestly benefitted the both of us.

That's understandable. I mean, who wouldn't be scared out of their wits after getting beaten up by a group of older boys. I still haven't forgiven those assholes. I don't think that a punch and a suspension is enough to teach them a lesson.

"Jie, where are you going?" Minsu asked as I stood up from the couch I was previously slumped on.
"To Pluto. I'm tired of the people here." I mumbled as I stretched out my limbs to head down to the basement

"You're tired of me?" He whined out, making me cringe slightly as I saw his pouting face.
"Yeah, I am." I answered bluntly. But of course, I'm only joking.

"Y/N jie!" He droned out in a whine. I nearly stumbled to the ground as he slung his arms around my waist and literally hang off me.

"How could you get tired of this handsome face?" He asked and repeatedly blinked at me.
"That would've worked if you're truly handsome." I said blankly and dismissively waved him off.
