70. A Little Sweet

Keran's POV

"Lin Fan, I really like you."

"That's... nice."

"Nah, too bland."

"Lin Fan, I like you. Let's go out."

"Nope. That's too assertive."

"Lin Fan, I like you. Do you maybe want to go out?"

"You sound uncertain. Are you sure?"

"What do you want me to do?" I cried out in frustration and groaned.
"You need to sound confident, but not too assertive that it seems like she doesn't have a choice." Yu Yan answered.

I sighed. I stopped pacing in front of them and slumped to sit on the bench. This is just making me more confused and nervous. I've called Y/N and Yu Yan to help me out. I want to be more careful with my words now. Especially since the last time, I said the wrong words and Lin Fan thought I friend zoned her.

Now it's more like Yu Yan is doing most of the talking while Y/N is just sitting quietly and eating a cupcake. I take it that she doesn't really know what to say either, given that her love life's still pretty much cat and mouse. I looked at her in exasperation. I need her help and she knows best because she's Lin Fan's best friend.

"Y/N, help me out here!" I whined and she paused.

She looked at me blankly and I just stared back. I can't afford to be scared of her when I'm nervous. She rolled her eyes before continuing to chew. Once she swallowed, she looked back at me. I rose a brow, waiting for what she has to say to me.

"You really think I know what to say? I've never asked someone out." She huffed before taking a bite of her cupcake.

"But you're Lin Fan's best friend. You must know how she wants to be asked out." I reasoned.

"Just say you like her, then ask her out." She answered nonchalantly.
"It couldn't be that hard."

I looked at her in disbelief and slight annoyance. "Oh, yeah. You're right... Heck you haven't even told Yuxin that you like her yet!"

"That's different!" She defended an glared at me.
"Besides, this isn't about me. It's about you."

"Exactly why I need you to help me out!" I groaned out.
"We already are doing that! just be simple. If you talk too much, Lin Fan might not even understand you. That girl got the attention span of a goldfish." She said.

"Why didn't you just ask Xiaotang for advice? That girl knows more that we do." Yu Yan spoke up.
"Well, she's busy with her date." I answered and pointed to the field.

The mentioned friend is standing in front of a food stall with her girlfriend, Yu Shuxin from Class B. The two of them are giggling together and eating. I honestly don't understand them, one moment they'll be all so sweet and mushy. Then the next, they'll be arguing about some things.

As if on cue, we all watched as Xiaotang said something to Shuxin with a wide smile. But then the latter one doesn't look very much happy about it and glared at her with a pout. Shuxin then shoved the paper bag to Xiaotang before walking or more like stomping away.

"Apparently, she's not busy anymore." Y/N commented as Xiaotang walked over to us, confusion obvious on her face.

"What the hell happened to you?" I asked as Xiaotang stood over us.
"I don't know! I just told her that she looks cute with chubby cheeks and then BAM! She's suddenly mad and walked off." Xiaotang let out a groan of exhaustion.

"She must've thought you called her chubby." Y/N spoke up.
"Woah, are you a love expert now?" I teased and she glared at me.

"It's called logic, Lu Keran. Something you clearly lack." She snapped.
"Ooh~ burn baby burn!" Xiaotang laughed out along with Yu Yan.
