Yuxin's POV

It's already Tuesday now. Yesterday, we got our report card and nothing much happened. Well, for me that is. I'm still the rank 1 in the school. Now is another day and truly, what other choice do we have other than to face it? There's already a fair number of students because classes would be starting in just a few minutes. The warning bell has actually rung already.

"Can you believe it? It's like she just dropped." Xiaotang spoke up from beside me as the two of us made our way to our classroom.
"What?" I briefly glanced at her, not fully understanding what she's on about.

"Lee Y/N. I mean from second to sixth? That's pretty rough." She mumbled. Her voice sounded far off as if she's getting lost in her thoughts.
"I can't help but think that it's unfair that only she took the fall and you didn't."

I paused at her words and it really caught me off guard and made me think. It's true that for the past few weeks, Lee Y/N and I have been getting into fights. The arguments in classes and the likes of getting back at each other. It's also true that for most of those, I managed to come clean and get myself out of the mess. While she wasn't so lucky.

"I didn't tell the teachers to give her detentions, now didn't I? It's not my fault that she isn't so smart to get herself out of trouble." I said plainly before continuing to walk. I heard Xiaotang let out a groan before following suit.

"Well, I don't know. Maybe you could've taken the blame with her." She pointed out.
"Mind you that most of the troubles and arguments are started by you. Even if you say that it's technically not you and just some random students you ordered around. I'm not dumb to not notice it, Yuxin."

I let out a sigh and turned to her. "So, what are you saying? That she dropped 4 ranks because of me?" I queried and once again, stopped walking. She did as well and now, we're standing in front of each other. I stared at her with my blank expression and she returned it.

"Not because of you. But because of this dumb 'cold war' going on between you two!" She answered, rolling her eyes.
"And that the consequences are only one-sided." She added.

I didn't say anything for a few moments, just trying to come up with what to say to her. But nothing is coming up in my mind and I can't really grasp on to what she's trying to point out. It's not like I'm wrong. Lee Y/N is just too stupid to get out of trouble.

'Trouble that you caused'

What? What was that? I caused the troubles? No. I didn't cause any of those troubles and arguments. It was Lee Y/N who always start the fights and arguments. Why the hell am I even arguing with myself?

"I don't even understand why you're so, like adamant on keeping this feud going." Xiaotang said again, effectively breaking me out of my thoughts. I blinked and focused back on her.
"Because I can't lose to her. I can't let her get the upper hand." I grumbled and my brows now furrowed in annoyance.

"Hell, Lee Y/N isn't even competing with you! And I'm getting suspicious of you." She narrowed her eyes at me as if examining me.

I looked at her, my expression not changing. I stared at her for a minute, already getting a hunch of what she is about to say next. I definitely don't want to hear any of it. I turned away from her and continued walking. We're still in the third floor.

"Hey! Don't even try to escape this, Yuxin. I swear- "
"You, go to your classroom." I cut her off, pointing at a random student.

"Why does it seem like you're constantly trying to get Lee Y/N's attention, huh?"
"What are you doing? No playing in the halls!"
