47. What Zone?

Keran's POV

"Y/N, what should I do? What should I even wear? Is Lin Fan sure she's going?"

I couldn't help but ramble on as I paced nervously around my room. It's already Saturday and I have never been so nervous for anything in my life. But it's the good kind of nervous and there's also a tinge of excitement.

A few minutes of silence came as a reply and I stared at my phone in confusion. I've called Y/N up to help me and maybe get her opinion on what I should wear and even do later. She knows Lin Fan the best, after all. She's still in the other line.

"Hello? Y/N, you there? Don't sleep on me!" I spoke into my phone. I heard shuffling on the other side.

"Lu Keran, it's fucking 6 in the morning! What the actual hell?!" She yelled in annoyance.

I winced as I took note of how rough her voice sounded. I must've woken her up so early. I sheepishly scratched at the back of my head even though I know she won't see. I must've been too excited. There's still 4 hours until Lin Fan and I go out.

"Ugh, did I wake you up?" I asked and bit my lips.
"Isn't it already so obvious?" She snapped.

"I'm just nervous and all. I don't know what to wear." I hesitantly said, cautious if she'll snap again.
"We're going to the mall."

I would've called Xiaotang up for help but that one sleeps like a log and wouldn't wake up. Especially because there's no classes. Then Yuxin, but what does she know about this kind of stuff? And she'll probably hunt me down if I disturb her rest. The only logical person to call is Y/N. Not that she knows a lot about dating but because she knows Lin Fan's preferences.

"Are you kidding me? You woke me up, at 6 am, just to ask me what to wear to the mall? Go wear a freaking wedding gown! Because apparently you've never went there so you don't know." She flat out yelled and I jolted to pull the phone away from me.

I didn't reply to her, willing and waiting that maybe she'll calm down. I'll tell Yuxin later that Y/N's not a morning person. What a random thing they could bond with. I let out a small groan and rubbed at my ears. I really regret bothering her now. Maybe I should've waited until later, but I know that by then, I'd be flapping around like a headless chicken.

"Just wear some damn clothes, Lu Keran. I'm going back to sleep. Don't bother me, I have so much to do later." Y/N spoke up again and after that, the call ended abruptly, leaving me standing in the middle of my room, dumbfounded.

I took a deep breath and put my phone down on my nightstand. I should probably calm down. There's so much time to spare anyway. I don't even know how the hell I'm awake this early. I plopped down, face first on my bed and rolled on it, not knowing what to do.

Maybe I should just sleep some more. Thinking of it, I've only managed to get about 6 or so hours of sleep because I was too anxious and excited. With a sigh released as if to physically rid of my giddy feelings, I closed my eyes and drifted back to sleep.

A pitched ping from my phone woke me up. I let out a small groan at being disturbed and tried to find it with my hand and eyes squinted from sleepiness. I shifted to my back and raised the phone above me. Only to drop it in shock and I immediately sat up, hand on my nose and head spinning.

"How is it past 9 already?! I felt like I only blinked!" I shrieked and stood up. There was already a message from Lin Fan.

I quickly contained myself and immediately replied with a greeting and that I'm also excited to see her. And as much as I want to bask in the feeling the message from her brought me, I set it aside and ran to my bathroom. I only have less than half an hour to get ready, I can't be late.
