Y/N's POV

"Okay, anyone wants to be center?" I asked my groupmates.

Our song for the final project is finally done and ready. As planned, we're now working on the choreography for it. And of course, choosing which one of us would be the center to represent the whole group is crucial. And we also need to decide carefully. Whoever is the center must make our group stick together better.

Right now, we're inside the classroom and casually practicing. Mister Jin told us that we can practice and anything in the mean time as we're not allowed to leave the room yet. But problem is that, our group is already through with everything but the dance. And we also don't want to waste time doing nothing. Hence, we are now trying to decide who will be the center.

I looked at my group and three out of five people raised their hand. An Qi, Xi'ai and Kong Xue'er. I nodded at that and tried to foresee who we're going to choose between them. I'm honestly leaning more to picking Xi'ai. I've been in a group with her before and she did great being the center for our MAMA performance.

"Okay. Let's have you all try out for the center part and then we can vote." I suggested and prepared the music.
"Hey, hold up! What about you? Aren't you trying out for center?" Xi'ai's voice held disbelief as she stopped me.

"No. I'm sure one of you will do a better job. I'm not really inclined to dancing." I dismissively answered and shook my head.

"Alright. Who wants to go first?"

An Qi volunteered and we moved our chairs to the side to give her space to dance in. the rest of us stood on the side as An Qi gets ready. Once she gave me the go sign, I played the song and she started to improvise since there's no official choreography yet.

"Woo! Sexy lion!" Xi'ai cheered as An Qi suddenly went down on the floor and crawled as she finished.

I clapped along and nodded my head. She's also good. No doubt. But it just slightly concerns me that she might not be able to hold the group together. I mean, sure, the concept is sexy, but it's not just that. Our group is also messy when it comes to our styles, so she must be able to pull off various concepts all at once.

Kong Xue'er went next and her dancing is good. What do you expect when Lisa Laoshi accepted her into the Dance Club? I think the only downside would be her vocals. Her range just doesn't fit well with the song. At this point, I don't know what bases we're going to use to choose. The last one was Xi'ai and as I was expecting, she did really good though it's only an improv.

"Okay. Now let's all vote." I said and turned off the music.
"In one, two, three."

I pointed to Xi'ai, while she, along with An Qi pointed to Kong Xue'er, who voted for herself and Chen Jue pointed to An Qi. Should they even be allowed to vote for themselves? For a moment, I doubt if they're really serious about this or not. I could feel a furrow in my brows as the group stayed silent.

"Okay then." I mumbled after a few seconds and lowered my hand.
"Center's Kong Xue'er." I announced and the said girl attached the pin to her sweater.

"The world has gone mental." Chen Jue mumbled under her breath.
"I'm not too confident in this." She added, this time more towards me.

"Why did we even bother voting if we're not going to follow the results. Right?" I answered instead and brushed my hair.

It's already done. There's nothing left to do but proceed to the next points. I don't want another issue to blow up by questioning why they voted for Kong. Our group is already messy as it is. And now that the performance day is getting close, I don't want us to be in disorder.
