It was the full moon the next month and Riley could see how different Remus was acting. He was sensitive towards loud sounds and strong smells. He was all aggressive and moody which made it easier to make the secret obvious.

She also noticed how the teachers didn't give him detention for not handing in his homework the next morning. McGonagall was so nice to him. He fell asleep the next morning during classes and Riley took notes for him when he was gone. She helped cover his secret so that nobody else could understand it.

Riley also visited him when he was in the hospital bed the next morning, with new scars around his body.

Again, Remus was getting out of the hospital wing and Riley was in class taking notes when she realized her other three friends mysteriously disappear. She couldn't find them for a long time and when she did, they weren't pretty happy.

"You knew about Remus' secret?" Sirius said angrily in the Gryffindor common room. Riley looked around and saw that nobody else (except for the four of them) was around.

"Since when do we call each other by our first names, Sirius?" Riley said, maintaining her calm tone.

"Him being a werewolf? Why didn't you tell us?" James said.

"Look, he didn't want me to tell anybody because he wasn't ready to tell anyone yet! And believe it or not, you cannot blame him for that. Put yourself in his shoes, would you have told anyone? And also, please tell me you didn't barge into the hospital wing and just start screaming at Remus like you're doing to me right now!" Riley said in one breath. She was angry at them for the first time. James, Sirius, and even Peter looked at each other.

"Of course we didn't do that, but we would have wanted to know, you know, for two years he has been hiding it..." Sirius said.

"He was afraid of losing his friends, okay? He absolutely hates being a werewolf and he probably feels hurt right now because it is the next morning after his transformation. How did you find out?" Riley asked.

"We noticed he was gone every full moon, we snuck out with the invisibility cloak one night," James explained. "But don't worry, we told him that we were still gonna be friends with him and we would support him, so what he's a werewolf? It's not like he's a traitor or a death eater or something," James said.

"So, okay, that's good, kinda relieved. Let's go visit him, now," Riley said.

"Now? I mean isn't he like injured or—"

"So what? Leave him alone? It will make him feel better."

They walked to the hospital wing and saw Remus lying on the hospital bed with Madam Pomfrey on his side. It was nearly dark now and they had to go back to their dorms.

"Boys, it's almost curfew, you can come back in the morning," Madam Pomfrey scolded them.

"Please Madam Pomfrey, we want to visit Remus," James said.

"I know, how nice of you to be thoughtful of your friends, but I cannot keep you out of trouble when someone catches you out of bed!" Madam Pomfrey said.

"Please, it will only take a minute," Sirius begged.

"Your minute started..." Madam Pomfrey said as she sighed. The four friends rushed next to Remus.

"Hi," Remus said. It was one of the rare times he had to spend the whole day in the hospital wing. He didn't like missing out on classes and he had a lot of scars this time.

"How do you feel?" James asked.

"Terrific," Remus answered.

"When did you become a werewolf?" Peter asked curiously.
