"Oi! That was my foot, Sirius!" James said under the invisibility cloak. They were trying to sneak into the Slytherin common room, and five people under a single cloak wasn't working well.

"I didn't mean to, James, stop being such a drama queen!" Sirius said with a strong whisper.

"Hey! Both of you! Stop it before I kick you out so that everyone can see you, wait for someone to come so that we can go in!" Riley said. She had enough of their nonsense.

"We can just go up to the common room and rest instead of waiting for someone to open the bloody door..." Remus said.

"I agree, I'm hungry," Peter said. Soon, Regulus Black came and looked around before opening the door.

"Is someone there?" he asked thoughtfully. Nobody answered and he whispered the password and the door opened. The five friends walked into the huge common room. It was very different from their common room. It wasn't as cozy and warm. The fireplace was shooting green flames instead of red. The couches were jet black made out of fancy and expensive cloth. The walls reached their way up with the view looking at the Black Lake. It wasn't very crowded, and Regulus sat with a creepy looking kid.

"Let me introduce you to the one and only Regulus 'Reggie' Black, my perfect brother and my mother's absolute favorite," Sirius whispered.

"He resembles you, but more different. His hair is neater," Remus said sarcastically.

"Grab these," Riley said as she handed Remus little things that looked like candy.

"How are we going to make them eat these exactly?" Peter asked.

"We'll put it in the cups that happened to be," James looked around, stepping on everyone's feet, "—there!" He pointed at the silver cups, lined in a perfect line.

They all walked simultaneously towards them, trying not to bump into anything. Sirius put them in the cups while Riley gave him more of the candy-like-looking prank items. They left as soon as they were done, not to get caught by anyone. They weren't looking forward to detention with Professor McGonagall, making them sit in silence and write Transfiguration essays for two hours.

They walked to the Gryffindor common room and sat at their usual spot right in front of the fireplace.

"Ah, I feel relieved, wait 'till the Slytherins start vomiting in the middle of the class, imagine McGonagall's face!" James exclaimed.

"Yeah, imagine Snivellus vomiting into the potions cauldron and Slughorn having to clean it up!" Sirius said.

"That would be amazing, seeing him fail in Potions, my dream," Riley said with dreamy eyes.

"Why are you so competitive in Potions with him?" Remus asked.

"Because he's a total git who likes to bring people down for no apparent reason. And, I want to beat him like I did last year."

The next morning was a Saturday and Riley woke up at seven AM just as usual. The quidditch captain for the Gryffindor team put the tryouts for that day, unlike the other teams. The other teams put their tryouts on a weekday but he didn't.

James, of course, was trying out for the team. He was trying out for chaser, unlike Marlene and Riley. They were both in for the beater positions. There were two beaters in a normal game but one of the beaters was already a fourth year. So only one of them was going to be picked.

Sirius decided on not trying out this year, maybe when the seeker graduated. Remus and Peter never wanted to.

They went to the quidditch pitch, they were dressed in their quidditch uniforms, red and gold sweaters with stripes and a logo of the Gryffindor house, a lion.

Ivy was the seeker for Ravenclaw in her Hogwarts years and Riley knew a lot about quidditch from listening to her.

Lily, Remus, Mary, Sirius, and Peter were all sitting at the stands.

"Are you here for Marlene?" Remus asked Lily and Mary.

"Yeah, you're here for James and Riley?" Lily asked. Remus and Sirius nodded. Peter looked like he was about to fall asleep.

They watched James show his skills off on the pitch. He scored every few minutes and it was clear he was going to be picked for the team. Marlene and Riley were in a real competition.

Marlene hit the bludgers to the other team members, she protected them from the other players, and she was excellent. Riley was doubtful if she was going to make it in the team or not.

Riley on the other hand acted more strange but more strategically. She didn't hit every bludger she saw but hit them in directions she knew the players would fly in before they were there. This gave her time to hit more bludgers and block more players and gave James time to score more goals.

The captain was also the keeper and he was watching Riley with amazement. His name was Will Dalton. He was in his fifth year.

The tryouts ended and they gathered around to see who won and who lost. James, of course, got in without a surprise.

Dalton also told that Riley got in, this meant Marlene didn't get in, but Marlene and Riley were good friends, and it didn't bother them much.

"Now will you please shut up about your quidditch obsession now that you're finally on the team?" Remus said laughing.

"Of course not! Quidditch is life. And I'm pretty good at it," James said proudly.

"You're not the only one that got on the team you self-involved kid," Riley said smiling.

"Yeah, congratulations Riley!" Peter said along with Remus.

"Good to know I'm not forgotten..."
