Everyone was invited to the Potter Manor by James. Riley entered the house after answering the safety questions by Fleamont Potter.

"Hello," said Mr. Potter with a smile. Harley the house-elf stood behind him kindly.

"Hi, Mr. Potter," said Riley politely.

She went to the living room right by the entrance. There was a chandelier that lit the room brightly, making it welcoming and cozy, yet fancy. Everybody else was there.

"Crim, where the hell were you?" asked James. "We've been waiting for you for exactly..." he glanced at the time, "for exactly sixteen minutes!"

"Says the person who was late to almost every Herbology class to ever exist," said Riley as she rolled her eyes. "Sorry Lil, for making you wait."

"It's all right—"

"Sit already! Merlin!" said James.

"Mate, calm down, Jesus Christ," said Peter.

"I'm telling you, he's a giant baby," said Marlene. Dorcas laughed.

"Okay, everyone, just — shut up," said Lily nervously. "We have a — little — announcement to make..."

"It's nine in the morning, you woke me up, be quick," said Remus as he yawned. "You should know better, never wake me up—"

"We're getting married!" said James and Lily at the same time.

Everyone froze, their eyes were wide, mouths open. Lily had a nervous smile on her face, she held James' hand tightly.

"You — YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED?" screamed Sirius.

"We can hear you, you don't have to shout!" said Remus as he covered his ears.

"But we are eighteen — we just got out of school—" muttered Peter.

"We thought that — well, with the war and everything — there was no need to wait and waste our time," said James.

"I told you! I told you it would come true!" yelled Mary with a wide smile. "Yes! And I get to be a bridesmaid—"

"Oi! Not so quick!" said Riley quickly as she turned to Mary. "We all know Lily's gonna choose me!"

"You're all so stupid," said Marlene. "I get to be the bridesmaid."

"There can be multiple bridesmaids, idiots," said Dorcas.

Sirius was the one to jump up first, hugging James so tight that he couldn't breathe. He then did the same to Lily, and she hugged him back.

"You get to be my sister-in-law!" said Sirius excitedly. Lily laughed, James smiled.

Soon, everyone had started hugging Lily and James, making their bones crush by the tight hugs. Riley couldn't believe they were getting married, her two best friends were going to be husband and wife.

"I can't believe it!" said Dorcas. "So, how did it go, the proposal?" she asked grinningly.

"I bet James wet himself," said Remus.

"I was close," said James quietly.

31st of December, 1978

Riley went back to the Potter Manor for the New Year's party they were hosting. She knew they were always hosting a party on New Year's, but she never went to any of them since she didn't want to spend it apart from her family.

She wore a yellow dress which had thin straps. It wasn't a very long dress, it wasn't very fancy either. She had had it for a very long time, yet never knew when or where to wear it. Her hair had light waves that were carefully done by herself. She applied lipstick, then left the house.

The door to the Potter Manor was opened by Harley the house-elf who welcomed her inside and took her things.

"Hello!" said Lily as she walked towards Riley. She was wearing a long emerald dress which brought her bright green eyes out, her fiery hair fell to her back. "I'm glad you could make it!"

"Yeah, me too," said Riley with a smile. "I never came here on Christmas or New Year's before."

"It's extremely fun, believe me," said Lily. "But it is a bit less crowded, for safety purposes."

Less crowded? Riley thought. There were many people inside, holding their drinks and chatting with others. The chandelier looked a bit different, there were many options for foods and drinks on the tables which had been prepared carefully. The decorations shone, some of them floated around. There were red balloons along with the floating decorations.

"That makes sense," said Riley shyly. She looked around at all of these people, and she didn't know half of them. Of course, the rest of the group were there, and some of the people from the order were there. But there were also older people, which Riley assumed were friends of Euphemia and Fleamont Potter.

"Crim!" yelled a voice. Riley looked right, then saw Remus almost skipping around. He had a strange smile on his face and a drink which he refilled. "Hello—" he tripped.

"Is he drunk?" whispered Riley to Lily.

"Drunk Remus is very fun," said Lily jokingly. Remus got up and looked around confusedly.

"Oh — yeah — hey!"

"Moony, are you already drunk?" asked Riley as she laughed.

"What?! No!" protested Remus. "Pfft, I'm not drunk!"

"It isn't even ten o'clock," said Lily.

Remus took a sip of his firewhiskey. "I like this, I want more—"

Sirius came running towards them, slowly pulling Remus away who didn't do anything as he was pulled away. Sirius mouthed something and vanished into the crowd.

Time passed, and the party never felt boring. Riley had even talked to people other than her friends (which wasn't very normal.) She had talked to Gideon and Fabian Prewett and asked them about Ivy. Turns out, the three were friends.

Maybe Fabian and Ivy were closer than friends...

"Yeah, Ivy was great," said Gideon with a dreamy voice. "I miss her..."

"She never said you were friends," said Riley. "I wish I knew before."

"She wanted to keep our relationship a secret," said Fabian quickly. Riley almost spitted her drink, then choked.

"Your — your what?!"

"We liked each other," explained Fabian. "Then we started dating, since our sixth year, until the day she died."

"How come she never told me this?!" said Riley, half surprised, half angry.

"She had valid reasons," said Fabian. "She was scared that if the prophecy ever came true, they would hunt down her loved ones."

Riley took a deep breath. "It was nice talking to you two."
