"AH!" a horrified scream came from the direction of the ingredient cupboard of the big Potions classroom. The whole class looked there and saw Severus Snape's face covered in pink glitter.

Riley looked at James, Sirius, Peter, and Remus they were all hiding their laughing faces. Slughorn flicked his wand and the mess was cleaned up quickly. They were going to start the lesson now.

"Happy birthday Evans!" James said to Lily.

"Thanks — wait. How do you even know it's my birthday?"

"I have my own ways," James said with a smirk on his face.

"Is that stalking?" Remus said without looking. Riley and Sirius laughed as James shot them an angry look.

The classes were over and they were in the common room. James was sitting and fidgeting as he wrote a quick note on a small box. He walked next to Lily.

"Hi, um — I got a little present for you, y'know... birthday," he said shyly. Lily took the box and opened it. It was just a Zonko's item with sweets.

"Thanks. Was it you this morning? With all the glitter on Sev?" she asked.

"What? No!"

"I know it was you. Still, thanks for the present."

James went back to his friends.

"Five galleons you will not date!" Sirius said.

"Five galleons from me as well! She doesn't really like us," Riley said.

"Stop putting the bad energy out! But, yeah, they're right. But I'm putting a single galleon, not five," Remus said.

"Maybe she will get to know you more as the years pass," Peter said. "I still have hopes up for you."

"And this, everyone, is how to be a good friend! Thanks, Pete," James said as he patted him on the back.

"Wait so when is the next full moon?" Sirius asked.

"Is it a week after this?" Peter said.

"It's tomorrow," Remus said with disgust on his face.

"Oh, so that's why you flipped the cauldron in Potions... Because it smelled bad?" Sirius asked.

"It was disgusting... I can still smell it."

"Y'know what would make the transformation better? Animagi friends!" James said whisperingly. Remus rolled his eyes.

"No! For the last time, no!"

"You're so moody," Riley said.

"Moody like the moon. If you combine those two, it makes... Moony!" Sirius said.

"We'll just call you that so that you get sick of us and let us turn into animagi," James said. Remus rolled his eyes even more and took his book out. Riley went back to their dorm to get away from the loud common room. She took out paper and quill to begin writing a letter.
