2nd of January, 1976

Riley was almost going to miss the train if she were a bit later than she already was. She quickly got on the train and searched for her friends.

"Oh hi Riley!" Lily Evans said as she passed by her.

"Hey Lily," Riley said as she smiled. "How was Christmas?"

"Ugh... my sister is dating this idiot that she thinks is wonderful... They came to our house on Christmas," Lily explained.

Riley then said goodbye and walked to the compartment she was searching for.

"We thought you missed the train or somethin'," Remus said.

"What happened to your nose?" Peter asked.

"Long story, I have to see Madam Pomfrey about that..." Riley said.

She sat in the empty seat next to James. It was almost like they had assigned seats in that compartment. They always sat in the same compartment in the same exact seats. 

Sirius was sitting on the left, right next to the window, right across Remus. Remus was sitting where he was on the right side of the compartment. Peter sat next to Remus, close to the door on the right side. James sat in between Riley and Sirius and usually sat in a criss-cross, covering most of the couch, causing Sirius to push him off. Riley sat close to the wall on the left side of the compartment. She always leaned to the wall or the door as she put her feet on the seats and pulled them close to herself. 

"Tomorrow, we have to go to Sprout's greenhouses and take four Mandrake leaves," James said. 

"I'll go and steal the ingredients for the potion," Riley said. 

"And I will use my powers as a prefect and let all of you do this!" Remus said as he smiled. 

"What a perfect prefect you are, Moony!" Sirius said.

4th of January, 1976

Riley stole the ingredients successfully the next day, taking James' invisibility cloak. James and Peter stole the Mandrake leaves as Sirius distracted Sprout. 

Remus wasn't there, Riley went to the boy's dormitory and nobody could see them. 

"All right, what do we do?" Peter asked. 

"We have to keep this in our mouths for an entire month and please no one swallow it, it means we have to start all over again!" Riley said sharply. 

"Second, you can't seem suspicious! Nobody can suspect anything, especially McGonagall! She knows how to become an animagus and she cannot suspect anything, it can result in us getting expelled..." Riley then explained. 

James gave the leaves to everyone. They all put it in their mouths. 

"What the hell is this?!" Sirius said. "I can't talk with this thing!" he muffled. 

"It tastes weird..." Peter said quietly. 

"PETE! Don't eat it!" James said. 

"Wait, who is the fifth boy who stays in this dorm?" Riley said. There were five beds around but one of them nicely done and the bedside table was empty. No trunk, no nothing.

"We don't know, he left after our first year he complained about how he couldn't sleep because we were so loud and I think he just snuck into the Hufflepuff common room..." James muffled.
