---
Here goes nothing.
I take a deep breath stepping out of Aunt Julie's car once we arrived at the airport. I turn to my left and see two parents hugging their teen daughter as they all cried.
I turn around and see Aunt Julie, wiping her tears as she covers her mouth, waving me goodbye.
"I love you." I mouth.
She runs towards me. "Sunny! Don't forget you're peanut butter and banana sandwich." She dusts off my jacket. "Be safe."
"Oh." she paused. "Did you bring enough pillows?" she reminds and I know she's just doing this to keep me here.
Knowing Aunt Julie, she would go way ahead of time. My flight's at 12 o'clock in the afternoon and we came here by 11.
"You're clothes, are they enough?"
"I'll be fine, Aunt Julie." I calm her. "I'll be with some relatives, won't I?"
"Yes, but they're lost, relatives from your father's side."
"They don't know you well."
"What if they don't know how many drops or which essential oil you scent you put on your diffuser?" she worrying like it was a big thing.
"I'll be fine." I hug her. "It's just a year, I'll come back in the summer anyway."
"Ugh, I love you." she sobs. "I wish you were five all over again."
It took me a while to calm Aunt Julie and say our final goodbyes. And now, I'm just sitting here, waiting for my turn to board a plane.
And then, I feel someone sit next to me. Unplugging my earphones, I turn to look who it was.
"Louis." I sigh.
"Please don't go." he sheds a tear.
"I love you Sunny."
"And I forgive you."
"Louis, it's too late for that."
"Louis, please don't cry."
"At least I'm happy." I hold back my tears. "I'm happy because I got to be with you."
I reach behind my neck and unlock a necklace I have just made.
I used the promise ring Louis gave me as a pendant. I was planning on keeping it, wearing it every single day.
But I guess letting go of someone means opening your eyes to the reality that they're just part of history and not part of my destiny.
"We should move on, okay?" I wipe his tears, handing him the ring.
"If it scares you, please do try."
"Flight HWN0325 to gate L3 please proceed to board immediately, thank you."
"I have to go," I whisper, standing up from my seat.
"Do you really have to?" Louis grabs my hand.
"I made my choice." I sigh.
"We can do this together," he says.
"Sometimes, life means stepping forward without certain people. This isn't easy for me too. As I said, we both need to try. "
I cup his face and lean my forehead to his.
"I love you, Louis." I kiss him softly.
"Keep this." I close his hands as he held the promise ring. "I'm not in a field of dandelions anymore." I try to smile as I walked away.
"Goodbye,"
