I walk Louis out with some of the chocolate chip cookies Aunt Julie had baked.

"Eat this with milk and you're good." I hand Louis the cookies.

"Sunny." He stops my way back inside.

"What?" I turn back.

"About yesterday." He begins. "You really don't remember anything from when we left the party?"

"No, I really don't." I laugh, shaking my head. "Did I somehow behave indecently?"

"You really don't remember?"

"Of course, I don't. Do you really think I'd lie to you?"

"Stop pretending. I know you remember." he protests.

"This isn't me pretending," I answer. "I don't remember a thing―"

"We kissed." he cuts in.

And that was it. I finally remember. Me and Louis were on our way home. We stopped in front of this large building and sat on its steps.

My face close to Louis and his was close to mine. Not even inches apart. When suddenly Louis moves his face away and tells me "Let's go."

He crouches in front of me. "Hop on." And pats his back, motioning me to ride.

And I remember drunkenly answering. "Let's go." And cackling, "Ms. Julie will be expecting me."

"Hey. We didn't kiss!" I yell at Louis.

"How do you know when you don't remember?"

"What?" I gasp.

"Told you." Louis scoffs. "No wonder you've been walking on eggshells around me all morning."

"I've known for years now." He points out.

"What was I supposed to do?" I cry out. "And what if I do remember?"

"It'll only make things awkward between us."

"We were drunk and confused―"

"I wasn't confused nor was I drunk."

"Just get some rest." He pats my shoulder. "You really are back."

I watch him walk away but then he looks back.

"Maybe we should eat lunch, later!" he yells. "I'll be here on 12."
