Today, Toni's hosting a summer party at her house. I beg Aunt Julie to let me go because she insisted I should only help Eric around London. She said yes eventually.
"I'll be going now!" I nearly close the door.
"That dress is too short!" Aunt Julie rushes her way to me.
"Oops! I forgot to wear underwear!" I sarcastically answered.
"Sanura! You better get home early." She nags.
"I was joking."
I arrive at Toni's party. Shockingly, it looks quite elegant. There's a bar in a corner, with people wearing likely what I am, except a bit more formal.
Luckily my dress isn't too "party-ish" for this event.
"Hey, pretty." Lucas wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"You look glamorous." I eye his suit.
"There she is!" Toni opens her arms with a glass of champagne.
"Come, I hired a cute bartender for you."
"Seriously?" I give Toni a look.
"Sunny, of course, I won't set you up with just a bartender."
"We both know you're only loyal to one L." Lucas tells me.
"Guys, we talked about this!"
"Alright, alright." The two roll their eyes.
"How else would I invite you to a party without Louis?" says Toni.
"He's...here?"
"Yeah, he heard us talking at that Starbucks near school yesterday. We had no choice but to invite him."
I look around with a glass of champagne in my hand.
"Hello, stranger." A voice mumbles behind me.
"Louis?"
"You look dashing." I gushed.
Louis fixes his bow tie. "I know." He stands proudly and I laugh.
"A bow tie?"
"Yes, why not?" he turns both his eyes on me. "I knew you'd like it."
"Why is that?"
"You always said I looked good with a bow tie."
"Louis!" A pair of arms wrap Louis, interrupting our small talk.
"Who's this?"
"Oh, Uhm..." Louis begins with what seemed like, hesitation. "This is Sunny. We're―"
"Friends." I put in. "Acquaintances rather."
"I see..."
"I'm Louis's girlfriend, Willow." She shakes my hand. "Willow Blunt."
Girlfriend? I am completely speechless. I mean, she could've said only her name before actually telling me she's Louis's girlfriend. I'm not jealous, okay?
Well, maybe I am. BUT STILL.
How could he move on too fast while I was slow?
I can't blame him for it. I told him to move on and now here I am, completely out of my mind, filling my brain with thoughts it cannot answer.
