At 11 pm, I was woken up by my phone that constantly rang.
"What the-"
Will
"What does he want now?" I mumble.
"What?" I answer. "It's 11 give me a break."
"Could you come down for a bit?" Will asks. "Meet me at the playground."
I drop the call and grabbed a jacket real quick.
"Hey..." I say with hands in my pocket.
I spot Will sitting on a swing with earphones plugged in.
"Oh." he paused. "Hey."
I sit on the swing beside him. "Do you...need something?"
"No."
"So you called me here for nothing?" I let out a death glare. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Relax." he waved his hand helplessly. "I just wanted to asked how are you."
"I'm fine."
"The real answer."
Shit. He knows I'm anxious. Probably because it's clearly obvious when were at work. Maybe it's because I check my phone constantly.
"You got me." I sigh. "I can't tell you everything though."
"It's just too much."
"With reasons that have to deal with college in Stanford, Louis, the rest of Year 13 and a whole lot more.
"It's just piled up in my head and I don't know what to do," I add.
"Stanford?" he asked. "I thought you were going to Cambridge."
"Are you hungry?" I change the subject. "You look like you need to grab a bite."
"Come on, I know just the place."
I take Will to the diner. Yes, the diner. It's open for 24 hours; quite convenient if you think about it.
"You still eat here?" he chuckled.
"Yeah." I smiled. "I always do. It holds a very special memory for me."
"Hm?"
"You see, this is where my mom and dad had their first date."
"I never actually met them, but my aunt tells me."
"They had a senior year trip for college. My parents were completely American that they searched all over London to find American food. And they found this."
OH MY GOD. I've never told that to anyone before. Not even Louis nor Lucas. I mean, it doesn't matter who I tell first.
"You haven't finished my question about college."
"Huh?" I sip my milkshake. "You never asked."
"Ugh." I scoff. "Fine."
"My parents met at Stanford."
"And I think my mom would be really happy to see me there."
"What about Louis?"
"I told you that's the problem!"
"Ok..." he shrugs.
"I'm sorry." I calm my voice.
"The world just keeps evolving under my feet. And I just wish it would stay still and not move until I'm ready.
