"Sunny, I don't mean it that way." Louis sighs. "I'm not playing with your feelings."
"You're right." he adds. "If I did still love you, I would've told you the minute we saw each other again."
"But did I?" he points out. "No. Clearly, you know what it means."
"I'm sorry, okay?" I raise my voice a little. "You're right. If we still want to be friends, maybe we should finish where we left from."
"I'm sorry." he answers. "If I were to travel back in time, I would've listened to you before letting you go. Then we could've worked it out now."
He pauses, turning his eyes at me. He looked helpless as he sighed before bringing out another word from his mouth.
"I just don't wanna lose my best friend." He tells me.
"I don't too." I smile. "But I don't want us to forget our past. Because even though it isn't in the present anymore, It will always hold a special place in my heart."
I know it was quick for us to stop fighting but we have to of course at least be mature about this. And being friends again would leave me with no problems, especially becuase I'm going to Stanford after summer.
However, I will always remember how it felt like to be more than Louis's best friend.
"So what course are you taking?" Louis's walking home, it's just a couple blocks from Good Reads anyway.
"Political Science." I answer, kicking a sidewalk pebble.
"Woah." he gasps. "You could be the next president of the United Stares one day!"
"Haha, very funny."
"What? You could invite me to at the White House." he teases.
"We're here." I take step near our gate.
"Yeah, I could see my sister in there with Eric in his room." He eyes the window.
"Louis, he's my cousin. He may be a little bitch sometimes but, I know he'll take care of Millie."
"Just please tell her to come home before 9."
"Alright." I roll my eyes playfully.
"So..." Louis begins closing the gate for me. "Will you meet me at the White Party?"
