"Jeez," I scoffed, scanning the streets around us, "For a guy that likes to complain about people being late he sure is late."
"It is abnormal." Shino agreed, as unbothered as ever nonetheless.
Izumi also was in a good enough mood, skipping in front of us to look ahead, "Maybe he has something special planned!"
"Sasuke?" Naruto tilted his head at the idea, and I had to agree.
Izumi shrugged, "You never know. He can be surprising sometimes."
"That's for sure." I chuckled. It was almost impossible to have a handle on Sasuke, whether it be his moods or his intentions, he was a wild card.
Naruto narrowed his eyes, "But it is weird that he didn't come to wake me up like he usually does."
"To think he'd waste such an opportunity." Izumi sighed, "We never get to hang out with Kiba anymore."
"What does that mean?" I asked in bemusement.
"You have been busy recently." Shino rationalized, but clearly didn't have as much a problem with it as Izumi did, "Then again, getting any amount of us together had been growing more difficult."
"Yeah," Naruto groaned, "It feels like I haven't had a break in forever!"
"Says the guy who sleeps in almost every day." Izumi snarked, "Some of us are attending meetings and going on missions-"
"And getting beat up by our moms." Naruto finished, grinning at me. Damn, okay.
Izumi whipped around with a shocked gasp, running up and hugging me as protectively as he could, "Be nice to him!"
I laughed at it though, patting Izumi on the head, "It's fine."
"Is it?" Shino quirked a brow at me.
I waved it off, "Yeah, yeah, can we go back to finding where Sasuke went?"
"Oh, right," Naruto put a hand to his chin, "If he isn't at his apartment, where would he be?"
"We've just arrived," Shino responded bluntly, "Maybe we should start by seeing if he is there."
"I'm just trying to think ahead!" Naruto defended.
Our bantering was interrupted as Sasuke's apartment door opened, Yui walking tiredly out. As soon as she locked eyes with me, she ran up to us and grabbed me by the wrist, "Help. Now."
"Huh?" I blurted, and she yanked me forward and back to the apartment, "Wait, is he okay?"
"No." she bluntly responded, but although her words were filling me with anxiety she didn't seem all that worried herself.
The others followed after us as she pulled me into the apartment and to a door, "He's being weird, and not normal Sasuke weird."
"What does that mean?" Naruto peeked around me at the door, Akamaru walking up to it and giving it a sniff, growling in response.
Instead of answering, Yui pushed open the door to what looked like a dark abyss. Tentatively, I leaned forward to look in, did he have blackout curtains on the window or something? More than the oppressive darkness, I was hit by the smell of weed, causing me to cough as I spotted the sole source of light, a desk lamp, with Sasuke crouched in front of it. He slowly turned around to look back at the door, and Naruto immediately pulled me back and slammed it shut.
"Wh-what the hell is that!?" he whispered in horror, and as much as I hated to admit it I was kinda feeling the same way. That was weird.
